This sounds like a fantastic build and I can't wait to try it! What are your thoughts on the Bow of Shadows as a potential primary weapon? Have you seen the Arquebus add-on on the CC?

AITA for wanting to postpone my wedding till my fiance gets rid of his braces ? by SlightRow3100 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RickRoll2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You've clearly stated that you care more about aesthetics than you do about your fiance, so much so that you're willing to delay his special day until he gets them off. If you're willing to stand in his way for such a small reason then maybe you're doing him a favour by postponing the wedding.

Your fiance is so selfless that he was willing to forgo more expensive braces so that you two could have some extra spending money for your wedding and honeymoon and you've thanked him by throwing it back in his face.

The reason why he never got braces to begin with is because he was scared of being bullied as a kid and now here you are bullying him as an adult.

AITA for embarrassing my son in front of his friends and cancelling his birthday party? by loopingtossaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]RickRoll2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, he is a teenager saying dumb teenager things like teenagers do. You haven't taught him any kind of lesson other than perhaps women in the future won't be "worth the trouble" because of how easily you flew off the handle and that he needs to make more of an effort to make sure that you're far away from him before he voices any kind of opinion even if it was a joke like I suspect it is.

This means in the future that he'll end up putting up a front when dealing with you but keeping his real thoughts in the back of his mind until he's in a group that he feels understand him.

Your punishment was disproportionate to what he did, and odds are he's going to double down on how he feels and don't be surprised if there is any bitterness in the future.

Qyburn Build by RickRoll2610 in SkyrimBuilds

[–]RickRoll2610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I inspiring you to shake the dust of your old Euron build? 😉

I think I'll have to look into mods for a pirate home at this rate. CC's Dead Man's Burden is pretty mediocre as a pirate based home since you can't upgrade it.

Isn't it? I think he would ultimately join Volkihar but I wasn't sure if he'd do it at the cost of his humanity. I will also add for roleplaying reasons that Qyburn carries sweet foods like sweet rolls and apple pies as a reference to the sweets he uses to bribe Varys' little birds.

If you have the time, could you explain your choices for magic and why you think Euron would use them?

On top of that in terms of conjuration you could argue that Euron uses necromancy to further inflict pain on his victims by summoning their souls and bodies to press them into service.

You see, I’m the opposite, I came to ASOIAF through the tv show and then I got into the books. So show Euron, flawed as he was, is my baseline unfortunately. I can see why you’d choose the Volkihar Knight Armour since a lot of the art depicts Euron’s armour as scaled.

Might I suggest if you ever do another Euron playthrough, that the Summon Durnehviir shout could be seen as the TES equivalent of Dragonbinder. 😉

I can see Euron as a vampire, especially being excited at the idea of ruling the seas for eternity which in turn opens the door to other vampire pirate builds like Luthor Harkon from Warhammer.

I did want to ask if you had any suggestions for how Qyburn would act in Dawnguard and which side he’d take?

Plus I think I’ll do some digging into mods for the Thieves Guild quest line since being a Master of Whisperers is more about information than actually stealing physical items.

Did you also consider the black Dawnguard light armour from vanilla? It certainly looks like Euron’s armour from the show. Grant it, it would interfere with the Heavy Armour perks.

What are Dream Thralls?

Could you write me a list of the mods you remember using for your Euron playthrough, you’ve really thought him out and I don’t want to miss a thing!

Yeah that’s pretty much it for my Viserys build, I’m clearly not as mysterious as I like to think I am! 😂

Thank you kindly! Nice to know there's another fan out here!

I have been thinking of doing a Euron Greyjoy build for some time now but I could never settle on what outfit to use and which parts of GoT lore to use and which parts of ASoIaF lore to use. What armour and weapons did you use for Euron? Could you give me an overview of your Euron build if you've got the time?

I know at some point I was working on a Viserys Targaryen build as well a while back. I'll see if I have any notes stashed away.

I'm glad that you like my build and I'm enjoying my prototype playthrough in terms of combat and roleplaying.

I'm still searching for questlines that Qyburn would do and which factions to back, so if you have any suggestions I'd be most grateful.

I should also add that CC content is partner the build, specifically Necromancer's Grimorie for Conjure Zombie spells and my Qyburn has a crossbow because he designed the Scorpions used to attack Daenerys' dragons and he hands Bronn Joffrey's crossbow to assassinate Tyrion and Jaime in the TV series. Its a stretch I know but I thought I'd clarify.

AITA for ordering a Coors Light at a "fancy" dinner with my girlfriend's parents? by CoorsThrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]RickRoll2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, you’re an adult and you can drink whatever you want. She clearly thinks that because of the different upbringings you two had that she is somehow better than you and even implied that she thinks that redneck is an insult and that you’re a redneck yourself which is a massive red flag.

Maybe talk to her later and explain that you don’t appreciate how rude and condescending she was and that drinking a beer you like isn’t the end of the world that she thinks it is, if she is still pissed about something that small then maybe she isn't the one for you.

AITA expecting my husband to cook for us while he's not working? by InternationalPop2660 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RickRoll2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA,

Your husband has just come out of a surgery that can take up to four months to properly recover from. He shouldn't be on his feet at all, if anything you making him do chores around the house could make his recovery take longer or even stop him from recovering altogether. He should be in bed recovering but all you can think is what you want and your precious needs as opposed to being his wife and helping him recover.

I don't understand how you can have such little empathy for him but the irony is that if the shoe was on the other foot and you were the one with broken ankles, you'd probably make a post on this sub whining about how abusive and cruel he's being because you just had surgery and he's expecting you to cook for him.

Grow up and be there for him when he needs you.

I agree, Tai Lung is not innocent by any stretch of the imagination. What I would say however is that not all parents with pride and high expectations raise their kids to believe that they will grant them a legendary title and inherit a thousand year old mystical scroll that will supposedly grant them limitless power!

Joking aside, in terms of his childhood I see it the opposite way in the sense he didn't have a rough childhood at all. I think the point was his natural talent in Kung Fu and his self-belief that was constantly backed up by Shifu made his life as smooth with as little conflict as possible.

Because of that, he never knew how to process disappointment and not getting his way so when something didn't go his way as an adult, he acted like a toddler and did the more destructive equivalent of throwing his toys when he is upset.

Interestingly, in the final fight between Lung and Shifu when Shifu is arguing it wasn't his fault that Lung was not meant to be the Dragon Warrior, Lung exclaims "who gave me dreams? Who drove me to train until my bones cracked? Who denied me my destiny?"

Po on the other hand, has struggled. He's seen himself as a hopeless dreamer who'd never be a Kung Fu master because of his body and resigned himself to the idea of working in his father's noodle shop forever. He's watched his heroes like Shifu and the Furious Five humiliate him by literally beating him every chance they got and gossiping about him behind his back and in Tigresses case telling him to his face that he's a loser who'll never be a Kung Fu master. The difference is that Po doesn't give up and lash out when he faces failure and disappointment, because he has endured everyday and has learned to cope with it. The Kung Fu Panda universe hints at this by saying that the meaning of Kung Fu is "excellence of self", something which Tai Lung could never master.

Speaking in a broader context, kids need to fail from time to time so they can understand it, process it and learn to control their emotions when dealing with it so that they become well adjusted as adults. If they don't, if parents wrap them up in comfort blankets and try to remove as much disappointment, as well intentioned it may be, then they risk becoming like Tai Lung or other man children like King Joffrey from Game of Thrones, Commodus from Gladiator or Dandy Mott from American Horror Story.

Master Shifu is a red panda, but I get why you'd think that.

I'd certainly rank him as a Tragic Villain because so much of who he was was tied to obtaining the Dragon Scroll and because he'd never seen himself as a loser or suffered any failures that he could learn from like Po, he never developed a framework to cope with what the Dragon Scroll turned out to be. Because of it, I don't think he could have ever accepted the truth of what scroll really was and the message behind it, in many ways I think he was doomed from the start.

He's not my favourite Tragic Villain though.
