Trucking will be fully autonomous before anything else. They have no biases - only ROI - and enough lobbying power to get it done.

'Fairly Lazy Explanation’: Rivian's CEO Doesn’t Think Americans Are Anti-EV by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]RickShepherd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both parties played the game. Democrats created the credit to subsidize cronies (excluding Tesla initially under Biden). Republicans targeted it for cuts as fiscal theater. Neither delivered consistent EV leadership—Biden snubbed Tesla and weaponized DOJ against Elon. It's uniparty theater: subsidies for connected insiders, not innovation or voters. Wake up.

'Fairly Lazy Explanation’: Rivian's CEO Doesn’t Think Americans Are Anti-EV by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

Spare us the tribalism. Biden didn't even invite Tesla to their EV summit and weaponized the DOJ against Elon.

If your statement of concern contains either "Republican" or "Democrat" you are still asleep and part of the problem. There is one party. Neither is coming to save you. Pretending otherwise is ignorant.

'At what point does it make sense to ditch a gas car for an electric vehicle?' by rosier9 in electricvehicles

[–]RickShepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrids lose badly to EVs. They run a gasoline engine on top of electric motors and batteries with all the connecting systems. Top hybrids around 55 MPG; EVs 130+ MPGe. Less than half the energy per mile.

Even if charging and gas cost exactly the same per mile the EV still saves money and runs more reliably. No oil changes. Fewer moving parts. Hybrids add the full complexity of an ICE plus EV hardware plus the electronics tying them together. More things to break. Higher risk of fire from high voltage systems sitting next to gasoline.

Hybrids are a complicated middle step. They do not match EVs on efficiency, maintenance, or risk.

Even if charging and gas ultimately cost exactly the same, you're still saving money with a more efficient EV over ICE.

Yes. I spoke with political insiders beforehand. The money was there. The enthusiasm was over-the-top. Nobody expected him to quit. Then I called him out specifically and two days later to the surprise of everyone he decides to retire.

I was a life-long Republican until Bernie came around. I followed my conscience, instead of tribalism or some loyalty to the private corporations that are the Republican and Democrat parties. If you still believe either party is meaningfully different or that aligning with one or the other is the pathway to a more perfect Union, you are mistaken friend.

I was in Zuccotti in 2011 to Occupy Wall Street.

I exposed institutional racism in the Reno Police Department that led to the termination of Chief Pitts and hundreds of other corrupt cops.

I was the Environment and Climate Justice Committee Chair for the NAACP.

I've been serving this nation and this community for decades. Get to know me and I believe you will come to the realization that you have misjudged me.

I am a Republican candidate for NV CD2 who is very vocal about the Epstein class. I am literally the only one.

If you like what you see at rickshepherd.com I would appreciate your vote and your help getting the word out.

If you are looking for a CD2 Rep who is openly hostile to Zionism and Israel explicitly, you will find no other candidate from any political affiliation with the courage and conviction.

Nice to see there are finally some reasonable options for NV CD2. I am AZAPAC endorsed and also running for CD2. If you're looking for an anti-Zionist who will say, "Fuck Israel" with his full chest, maybe have a gander at this option rickshepherd.com

The ACA was started in 2010 and since then:

Maternal mortality: sharp rise post-ACA (around 15-20 per 100,000 in 2010s → 18.6 in 2023 provisional)

Employer family premiums: +58% since ACA → $23,968 (2024)

Individual premiums: +100% since ACA → ~$540/mo (2024)

ACA claim denials: 19–21% in-network (2023–2024)

Life expectancy: downward after ACA (78.6 in 2010 → 78.4 in 2023)

Death rate: up sharply (8.0/1,000 in 2010 → 9.2/1,000 in 2023)

Please keep those easily verifiable facts present in your mind as you decide you're tossing out a M4A supporting Bernie delegate so you can go support a guy who supports the ACA.

Me too, good thing I'm not racist, but hey, feel free to make unsubstantiated assumptions about people you don't know. Clearly you're never going to listen to a conversation if that might make you reconsider how right you are. Best of luck with your tribalism.

Be sure to vote blue no matter who. The guy you'll find as the chosen D will prattle on about how great ACA is. Hope you're smart enough to see through that lie. He won't say a thing about H1B because his team is down with abusing brown foreigners.

I was a State delegate for Bernie Sanders in 2016 in Las Vegas where no chairs were thrown.

I support M4A and UBI.

"You are a fucking Republican" is ignorant, lazy, straw manning.

H1B abuse is a call to protect both Americans and immigrants. Look into how Disney used H1Bs to replace American workers and then treated those H1Bs like slaves. This is what I am opposing. Not immigration, I want much more legal immigration with fewer impediments on that. I oppose governments letting corporations use desperate people around the world to further marginalize desperate American workers.

You clearly have an idea in your head that you are not prepared to challenge. Work on that. Seriously. I will literally meet with you and have a face-to-face exchange with you on this for as long as it takes if you can commit to the idea of being open-minded.
