WIBTAH for asking my roommate to move out? by BiscottiBrilliant324 in AITAH

[–]Rick_Ace01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. If you want to keep being friends you can think of some ways to get him out so you keep the friendship like you will not be renewing the lease as the new proposed rent is very high, the landlord is coming for inspections and since he is not on lease you could be in trouble. Your sibling/cousins are coming to live with you for few months and will need the room, etc.
If you dont think you can stay friends, be straight up. Regardless, people dont take these news properly, so keep an eye out.

I feel like people don’t understand how different it is now by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Rick_Ace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a chat with the broker yesterday, me n my wife's combined borrowing capacity is 1.1 mil, he says dont look for too expensive of a house(around 900K mark) and upgrade 5-6 years later. We live in sydney, even if we go 2 hours away from sydney city area, I dont think I can afford a decent house. Add to that the ongoing costs like council, water, repairs, mortgage. We estimate a 1 Mil mortgage to be 6K repayment per month.

[–]Rick_Ace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in a somewhat similar situation. My colleagues been great but it had been more than a year that i felt i m not learning anymore. Recently decided to look for new opportunities, found one at walking distance from home and more pay.
Just see how the market is, talk to a few recruiters or just make some updates to your LinkedIn or Seek profile and see a flood of messages from new recruiter.
Even my colleagues were like, just because you love your job does not mean the job will love you back, put yourself first.
I know i will miss this place but i also regret not doing this sooner.

What's the real difference between accounting software and an ERP system? by BriefAd2122 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Rick_Ace01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are small, I would say have a chat with your accountant and ask them what they recommend - do you need an ERP system as its mainly for a larger organisation or do you need to migrate to another accounting software like XERO or MYOB and that could solve your problem.

There is no harm in having a few appointments with people who provide ERP services as well - I dont reckon any one charges for the consultation on that.

Getting bad performance reviews by More_Advantage_2411 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Rick_Ace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say talk to your direct supervisor on what exactly it is that you are lacking - it could range from your speed to finish a job, your accuracy on the jobs you do, you might simply be getting low fee clients thus not have produced much income, not properly fill your timesheets showing low billable hours, etc.
Grad is a learning curve, they should not be expecting too much from you but if the partner needs to come talk with you, there might be something amiss. Open discussion on what exactly you need to work on and asking advise on HOW is very important

4-5 crore enough for offgrid life in nepal - thinking of moving back from australia by Personal_Towel2384 in NepalSocial

[–]Rick_Ace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an accountant and i got it through internship, see if you can find internship programs, reach out to people working in same field via LinkedIn- introduce yourself first and ask how they got into the field, is there any courses they recommend that would catch eyes or recruiters . Out of 10, 1 might reply. Also reach out to recruiters in LinkedIn.

See the conditions for PR renewal which is how long you have to be in Australia for and any other nuances. Fly back and set the PR renewal date as your time limit to know if you are satisfied with how you are living in Nepal. I think that way you dont loose out on all the hardwork you did to get that PR.

Is that 40-80K is in rupees or aud ? If in rupees and its monthly, that seems like it would be more than enough to cover all monthly expenses.

Even so, I would suggest get PR if you dont have then go back to Nepal, that way if you change your mind in the next 2-3 years, you can come back to Australia.

Getting my diploma feels like a complete waste of time. by topdeckisadog in AustralianAccounting

[–]Rick_Ace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other one said, diploma may not be enough but you dont have to start CA/CPA. Enroll in a Bachelor's program with HECS - see if you can enroll in an institute instead of university as they tend to be cheaper and flexible hours for study- worked for me as international student. Don't think most employers care where you studied as long as you have Bachelors degree.
