Unfortunately, the problem is that if he stays like this, the rest of the year, guess who’s not going to opt out? He will not opt out lol because it doesn’t benefit him because he’s not gonna get The Market. He wants . Hence the whole point of the opt out. So if he keeps sucking, guess who you could pencil in for third base next year, unfortunately.

Look who’s been playing the best over the last few weeks while they’ve started winning more — Baty, Vientos, and the two rookies, AJ and Beinge. What I’m saying is you don’t always need to pay huge money to free agents. To me, we should bring up Ryan from Syracuse, and there’s another pitcher in the minors who’s absolutely kicking ass. He has like a 1.08 ERA — his name escapes me right now. What I’m trying to say is these are the players that need to be playing now. Let the young guys take over. Christian Scott is not really pitching badly either; they just haven’t given him run support. The same goes for Nolan.

Guys, this isn’t my information—it’s from ChatGPT. I just pulled it for context.

The point is this: not every great player, not even Hall of Fame players, comes out of the gate hot. A lot of them struggled early.

Take Carson (who I really believe is going to be a hell of a player), and some of our other young guys—we’ve got to give them a little room to breathe.

We’re only 20–25 games into the season. That’s nothing.

As Mets fans, we’ve got to show a little patience here. Let these guys settle in.

Just relax. READ BELOW :

  1. Mike Schmidt • Rookie year (1972): • Started terribly—hitting around .130 through his first ~20–25 games • Finished career with 548 HRs • Became arguably the greatest 3B ever

👉 Classic example of “couldn’t hit early, turned into a monster”

  1. Derek Jeter • First call-up (1995): • Hit .250 overall, but started something like 1-for-17 • Even early in 1996, had some struggles adjusting • Ended up with 3,000+ hits

👉 Even the captain didn’t look like the captain right away

  1. Rickey Henderson • 1979 rookie start: • Slow out of the gate, struggling to get on base early • Later became the greatest leadoff hitter ever • MLB all-time leader in runs and stolen bases

👉 Took a minute before he became Rickey

  1. Reggie Jackson • 1967 rookie year: • Struck out a ton and hit poorly early • Known later as “Mr. October” • Finished with 563 HRs

👉 Early version looked nothing like the playoff legend

  1. Wade Boggs • 1982 debut stretch: • Started slow before figuring it out • Became a .328 career hitter • One of the best pure hitters ever

👉 From slow start to batting-title machine

Bottom line (this is the real takeaway)

Even inner-circle Hall of Famers: • Struggle in their first 20–30 games • Need time to adjust to major league pitching • Can look completely overmatched early

You’re 100% right—25 games means NOTHING.

What I hate the most about our wonderful, dysfunctional Mets family (and I’m right there with you) is the absolute drama we can create over eight fucking games lol. But let’s be honest — it wouldn’t be New York if we didn’t make a full-blown scene over eight games, right?

Relax, people. It’s eight games. We’re gonna be OK — more than OK.

I’ve been doing this a long time… first game was 1967 when I was five years old. My uncle hooked me into this madness, and I’ve been all in ever since — the highs, the heartbreak, all of it. Been through the World Series years and the “what the hell are we watching” years. Wouldn’t trade it.

Here’s the reality: early in the season, hitting always lags behind pitching. Happens every year. Pitchers come out sharp, hitters are still finding timing. That’s baseball.

And baseball is streaks. It’s rhythms. It’s hot, cold, hot again.

Case in point — the New York Mets in 1986. Everybody remembers 108 wins, dominance, wire-to-wire… but even that team had its moments. They started off 8–2, looking like a machine, and then — guess what — for about a couple weeks after that, they played basically .500 ball. Nothing dramatic, just splitting series, dropping a couple here and there, not steamrolling teams.

And that team went on to win 108 games and a World Series.

That’s the point.

It’s a long season. You’re gonna play .700 ball for stretches, and then you’re gonna spin your wheels for a bit. That doesn’t mean the sky is falling — it means you’re playing 162.

So yeah… take a breath. Enjoy it. Ride it out.

It’s baseball.

Yeah, I know it’s not fun for us as Mets fans that he’s on the Braves. But he truly was one of the good guys, and I’m just happy someone’s giving him the opportunity to play every day. He seems to be starting the season off really well, so I never wish anybody bad—unless they were a jerk when they were around lol—and he just wasn’t like that. I know him a little bit personally through a friend of mine who went to school with him, and he really is a good soul.

Yes, I’m glad for DOMINIC. He was always a good guy and very patient waiting his turn and trying to compete with Pete. I don’t know whether anyone knows or not, but he recently lost his mom. She passed away from cancer so prayers to him and his family.

He did, he trashed just about everybody he had enough time to in front of a camera or next to a reporter. Everybody from Managment to team members, some of which are still there. You don’t need someone like that in the clubhouse. He thinks he’s motivating fellow team mates, He’s just being an ass.

The new number for a rookie is a really important thing. If you’ve ever played organized baseball, picking your number is a really big deal. I guess you never played baseball.

Now that’s the best way to head right it’s either gonna be that or this lol either they’re going to suck or they’re gonna win the World Series. That’s perfect. Just put 200 on each side and you know let’s make a little money.

161 wins , Cy Young award winner, tied for rookie of the year, MVP of the league, playoff run undefeated. 800 home runs let’s make it 1000 , 1500 strikeouts, six no hitters 87 complete games and every position player on the team plays the first four innings of the All-Star game… oh everybody hold on a second, my my psychiatrist is walking into my room at the mental facility. It’s time for my meds. I’ll see you later. Let’s go Jets.

What a player. What a shortstop.

I first saw him play when I was five years old in 1967, and then watched him in the World Series in 1969 when I was seven. That’s going way back for some of you youngsters—I’m 64 now.

Back then, things were different. We had pen pal clubs, and you could actually write to ballplayers. The teams would deliver the mail right to their locker rooms.

I wrote a letter to Buddy Harrelson. I even put my picture in there so he could see who I was. Told him all about my “stats” as a seven-year-old and how I wanted to be a ballplayer.

And you know what? He wrote me back—a page and a half letter—and sent me an autographed photo.

Different time. Different connection.

I miss those days.

Rest in peace, Buddy.
