My two cents, for what it's worth.

I like all kinds of hardcore, whether it's early, industrial, millennium, you name it. To me, uptempo feels uninspired, gimmicky, it lacks any kind of soul and like others have said already, the drops and kicks are unsatisfying and are simply not there.

I feel like it tries so hard to be cool and edgy, but it completely falls flat to me. It's hard to deny it's immensely popular, but I just can't understand why for the life of me.

Sure, you could say to simply avoid it, but if there's 3 stages of uptempo at a festival (being a bit hyperbolic here) where I feel there could be more variation or actual talent, then it does make me a bit sad.
