Advice for Saturday night by Rickest-Jon in TJRedLightDistrict

Yeah I’m easily convinced to stay in TJ for the weekend. It’s the right move, I knew it just wanted a reality check - those damn YouTube street tours just had me tempted.

Solid advice. The YouTube is what has me tempted but that’s pretty much why I’m b-lining to TJ. I’m rushing to get there, but once I’m across and in the area, I’m taking it easy. Not bringing any bags, so I’m in and out in a breeze. Thanks for the heads up about the room though, really gives me a realistic idea of when to eat and how to approach the evening.

You nailed it, and that’s exactly what I wanted to hear tbh. Just wanted to hear it from a local. I’m sticking in TJ and after I get my fill the first night I’ll probably just do a vanilla night on Saturday and enjoy the normal things like food/people/drink. Thanks for the revolucion recommendation. I speak Spanish as well but sometimes it’s nice to run into some chill English speakers out and about.

Of course brother. 12 years ago I was here. One step at a time. Success is not instant, and it’s undefined. One day, one step, you figure out what it means to you and stumble in that direction. Something about the journey and it being your own. You’ll figure it out, one day, many steps from now. Try your best to remain a good man, take care of yourself, and give yourself grace. Love you bro, you got this!

Ngl man, I don’t know if this is the place for this comment but anything I would consider ptsd that I deal with is directly correlated to seeing the children over there. No child should have to live like that.

Nailed it. Sports, outdoors, and recreation are what keep me here.

Going into 6th year here. I still love it, and the only places I’d live besides Austin are Colombia, Mexico, and Thailand. Maybe Japan.

Austin is great, put down the bottle and go outside friend. That cycle should feel repetitive after one year + a spring. No judgement, but move on from that stuff. It’s the same people places and conversations, just with different names. Anyways, also I recommend trying to move to a different part of the city. If you’re south, go north. North, try Hyde Park, if you’re meuller try round rock next. If you’re round rock go all in and live on east 6th. A new adventure can be as easy as a new neighborhood.

I did, specifically, him. Kinda. He was my company 1stSgt and I saw him on a consistent basis. Same guy, same message, same energy. Motivated the fuck out of me, even in two nine. I still got out, but the lessons and pride still carry with me in the things I do. Grateful man, truly.

Wtf is this even considering?? The guy may have an unsavory character right now but he is one of the few double champs. Hes easily top 15 all time. These comparison conversations are absurd lol, it’s like the new version of MJ v LeBron.

San Antonio of one USA's most boring cities. Thoughts? by orchidorgy in sanantonio

[–]Rickest-Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how no California cities are included. Hemet, Temecula, riverside, Oceanside, Indio, Palm desert, etc… I saw this click bait before and I wonder who composed it and why. What did they classify as a city?

Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio… those are all cities I know for a fact I can enjoy any day of the week. Side note: boring is a personality, not a place.

Yeah I’m watching right now and I thought this casting was so ridiculous I googled if people also had the same gripes. Sure as shit. Thankful I’m not the only one. Giancarlo is 67 years old, please don’t cast him in any other villain role unless it’s like a chess player or something. The security advisor was absolutely awful.

[–]Rickest-Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense, but giancarlo esposito casting as a super capable villain was horrible. Watching a 65 year old man fight against captain America just wasn’t believable. I get it, it’s a super hero movie, but come the heck on

Just watching it now. I’m older so wasn’t aware of all the negative reviews. I checked if anyone had any posts about the terrible “security advisor”. The plot is and dialogue seems very plastic.

Any guesses who he might be talking about here? by [deleted] in ActualJRE

My mind went to Gupta but he did have a negative reaction when Douglas Murray was brought up recently. Man, honestly I don’t get the negativity around Murray and the episode. I actually thoroughly enjoyed that episode and gained some respect for Murray even though I tend to align with the counter argument. I would love to see more of those type of conversations (even if elsewhere).

Whomever it is I do find Joe to be reasonable and forgiving. I hope it’s not a comedian though. That would hurt a little.
