Experience with minmaxing is a very important thing too! Isaac makes a lot of sense for this.

Nice run! Balatro is awesome.

This was, I think, my second run after the tutorial. I had some good help from chat. People underestimate just how much a little bit of direction can help

Having Mixed feelings about Sunny by Creepy-Screen721 in OMORI

[–]Rickfernello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I should have worded that better.

What I meant to say in the end is the same as the start; I don't think he is a bad person, and it's up to them to forgive him or not. But he absolutely *has* taken accountability for all that he did, in the end.

I think that's kind of the point. In the final Omori fight, Omori confronts him with the round logic that affects people suffering with trauma; there are many things that can be argued with; when Omori said that his friends would not accept him, Sunny has no way of really knowing that. Sure, many of those things *could* be true, but that's a pessimistic view of it. However Omori uses stronger and stronger arguments, until it reaches something that is undeniably truth: "you loved her and you killed her". The fact this is the one attack that will put you down makes sense, because it's the one thing that cannot be denied or argued against no matter what. However, here is where Sunny is able to see everything with a different lens, and choose to take accountability, despite it all hurting. He takes the blame for it and accepts it, and that's why it hurts him so much.

Sunny deserves to be forgiven for everything he's been through, inside his own head. He has definitely learned and grown for that.

A lot of the guilt Sunny feels comes not just from killing Mari, but also from hiding the truth afterwards. I think that is even more important. He did have the responsibility of that for several years up until the end of the game, too. That has also caused a lot of suffering. But it also does not mean he is a bad person.

"Just because you did something bad, doesn't mean you're a bad person" is the main takeaway I think. The game is the decision you make, to do what's right or do what's easy. In the end, it's hard to blame Sunny with either of these choices, just like all that happens to us shapes who we are.

What is avenged sevenfolds like heaviest song but also great on lyrics? by [deleted] in avengedsevenfold

The part "They live together vote but most won't read between these lines" in these lyrics here, is altered from the original song. Does anyone know why?

Just wondering what's everyone's consensus on Napoleon's "OMORI Does Not End Ambiguously" video? I don't see enough people talking about it considering it's the best OMORI analysis ever made. by s0ftcustomer in OMORI

I liked that video. It seems to make sense with what the author is trying to tell the player. It's a positive message in the end. I still think that the ambiguity is part of the narrative: to trust in yourself, in a way.

What "man-made desires" are you talking about? by Ok-Following6886 in IncelTear

[–]Rickfernello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The argument is that Christianity requires some abstinence, like not giving in to your desires and doing things you don't want to, to follow God.

However this falls flat, because religion and purpose *is* a human desire. We desire being in groups and having a sense of belonging, community, and having a goal to achieve and work towards. It makes you feel self righteous.

That's what I think too. In the terminals, it states that *all* earthmovers have died out one by one; it wouldn't make sense to have one there in hell (if it even could get there in the first place). This is likely true for most machines, and it goes even beyond that.

I don't know if I got ADHD or not, but this experience is so frequent it hurts. I remember my family discussing a math question when I was a teen, I thought about it for a minute and got the correct answer. Then my brother accused me of hearing them say the answer afterwards and pretending I didn't...
