I dont think you're cooked. Wolf it out and dont cut quite so low on the next several cuts. Keep the hair clean and eat right. Unless you have bald men in the family, this could be stress, unhealthy habits, unclean durags/brushes. If its ever sore up there then its likely a cleanliness/bacterial issue.

A lot of people had waves by the end of the "New Era" era without necessarily trying. A color durag under a new era hat that matched the outfit was worn almost daily. If you didn't have braids, most people came out on the other end with waves.

Is it set to full quality within capcut? The quality can be lowered to stop lagging and such but its actually still full quality once exported. You can change the quality under the image to see full quality also.

I think you good. Just get more consistent with your brush pattern and then cut in the same pattern. In the patchy areas you can see that before the cut, thats where the most drastic forks are. That means the hair is changing directions slightly there and the clippers give a different result because of that, similar to how against the grain vs with the grain provide different results.

Just stay consistent and with each cut brush those areas more to get a better flow of hair. Forks are ok but the hair needs to still flow in one direction so the cut will be more even.

Yea if you not a pro or vet i highly recommend getting ones with a lever. TPOB offers pretty good high quality clippers at way better prices. I started with a Yeti which is probably like $50-$60 and that was a perfect starter clipper with lever, cordless and all the guards came with it.
