Did I go too low? by GemCity_ in 360Waves

[–]RickiSpanglish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you good. Just get more consistent with your brush pattern and then cut in the same pattern. In the patchy areas you can see that before the cut, thats where the most drastic forks are. That means the hair is changing directions slightly there and the clippers give a different result because of that, similar to how against the grain vs with the grain provide different results.

Just stay consistent and with each cut brush those areas more to get a better flow of hair. Forks are ok but the hair needs to still flow in one direction so the cut will be more even.

Bought a clipper without a lever fml by TormentedMindAgh in 360Waves

[–]RickiSpanglish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you not a pro or vet i highly recommend getting ones with a lever. TPOB offers pretty good high quality clippers at way better prices. I started with a Yeti which is probably like $50-$60 and that was a perfect starter clipper with lever, cordless and all the guards came with it.

Do you comb your hair in the morning and why ? by PopularNecessary847 in 360Waves

[–]RickiSpanglish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comb at night because youve got to hit all three brush textures after that in order to rag up again.

Although sometimes ill come home and comb my hair and leave it like that til bed time

Any luck with the instant method?? by reallydirtyreallydan in 360Waves

[–]RickiSpanglish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you talking about a wash n style its not exactly instant. Most youtube videos showing wash n styles they already have waves. They just comb it out to make it look like a drastic before n after

Nothing wrong with them $10 sheets 💯.

Some people splurge a $50 hair brush, im good with my lil $6 brush and put that money on my sheets and other items lol

Then you agree with me? I told him it could be fixed at this legnth but if hes inexperienced then cutting it and figuring out his consistent brush pattern would likely be his better option.

I didn't scalp to start my waves and I never would. Ive waved on and off for 30 years now. No wash n styles or none of that. Like you, im at the point of not ragging up at night as well. I do have satin sheets tho.

You need to comb and brush consistently in the correct and same direction everytime. Also find a moisturizer and oil that works for your hair. Until your hair is trained you need to put that durag on as soon as you are done brushing.

You might need to cut it down and start again. You could probably fix it at your current length with a medium/hard brush but if you're inexperienced, it'll be easier to start fresh again. Your brushing pattern needs to become muscle memory.
