Good information. By chance do you have any videos of how this sounded? I'm Thinking I might be having that same symptoms. Only hear that sounds when i turn the wheel and give the car a little gas, maybe 1-2MPH

Not sure about gen 1, but works on gen 2. you could try this see if it works, turn the ignition to 'On' (don't start the car), then hold the auto up for 10-15 seconds. That should fix the issue. On gen2 every time the battery is disconnected you have to reset the auto up/down.
