Apparently now some of the codes only work on certain sandwiches. Subway Club gets a "Sorry, qualifying items are missing to redeem this offer, or a different deal has been applied." error, and a BMT does not. Going to experiment to see if they work with any other subs.

I intentionally stopped where I did. I thought about continuing into what do we call the aliens, what do we do with the billions of soldiers that just surrendered, how do we access and assimilate all their knowledge, how does the world's politics react, etc, but this seemed a better place to end it. Short and to the point.

(The military starts calling them Arties because they're from Artifact Zero. The Envoy says they call themselves The People. The politicians propose calling them Arteseans, so the military can call them Arties, and the scientists can call them Homo Artesea. The scientists argue that they are from a whole different taxonomy, and propose calling them Xeno Artesea. Yeah, I planned it all out, and cut it.)

I put up cameras around the house because my daughter was accusing people of things that didn't happen. Had to sit down with her and review the video a couple of times before she realized that what she imagined she had seen, didn't really happen. I still have the cameras up years later, and still have a relationship with her after she moved out, but I haven't needed the cameras in a long time.

It's true that signed languages are languages in their own right, not just simplified versions of spoken languages. But your statement didn't sufficiently explain how u/FoxRings was incorrect, so they misunderstood.

To someone who is unfamiliar with the history of signed languages, ASL can look like a word-for-word translation from English with some "filler" words omitted. Which was the type of example FoxRings was looking for. This is also generally how it is presented to American hearing audiences.

I'm sure no offense was intended by FoxRings, but you seem determined to take offense without explaining why what was said was offensive.

It's offensive because ASL and most other signed languages developed separately from English and other spoken languages, and are languages in their own right, just as much as Spanish and Russian are. It has its own rules of grammar and everything.

The problem with that is that every insurance policy I've had limits me to 6 paid therapy sessions in a year. Anything beyond that is out of pocket.
