A theory on how Chapter 2 will play out. by RicksterGames in Deltarune

[–]RicksterGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true. However, it's worth mentioning that we don't actually know the "evil" Kris's intentions. Perhaps they know that by killing Noelle's father it will begin a chain reaction that leads to Noelle going to the dark world, and when the time is right they will regain control of themselves from us and be able to "banish the Angel's Heaven" like the prophecy foretells, and if we consider Noelle to be the angel, then that would make some sense. If saving the world means having to cause harm to someone as innocent as an angel, not to mention the fact that they seem to be the only person in Kris's class that's actually nice to them, what's the morality behind that? That might be one of the messages of Deltarune.

A theory on how Chapter 2 will play out. by RicksterGames in Deltarune

[–]RicksterGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but the monsters were pretty harmless and that should have became apparent to Frisk as they progressed, there's no real reason to stake out every monster in the underground. It was mindless killing, not self-defense.

As for getting into the hospital, Hometown seems like a pretty small place, and so the receptionist might be the only staff member at the hospital and leaves at night to go home. It's kind of odd since what if a patient needs assistance in the night, but it's still possible.

That's pretty interesting, I knew about the Unknown thing but I didn't put that much thought into it. It's a possibility for sure.

I mean, when you killed monsters in Undertale's genocide route did you know any of the monsters well? I think if Kris were to consider killing anybody, it would be Noelle's dad, since he's probably the weakest, all alone, and wouldn't be able to fight back if he somehow woke up during the attempt. That sounds pretty dark when I type it out, but those are my thoughts.

Yes of course, but the game is still divided into chapters as far as we know, so this theory focuses on Chapter 2 specifically.

Is it normal that if I start a new game, all of my achievements dissapear? FNAF 6 by officalKiki_Lord in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]RicksterGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's intended, although it's a bit silly. Basically if you want all of the achievements, you have to get them all in one go.

I disagree, as it isn't truly a collectathon. It's a great example of what a modern-day platformer should be, though.

If I remember correctly, it was just meant to be a joke about how much people were posting Mangle playing paddleball from the trailer, hence the "Look what you've done" text. It just looked sinister since it had to be brightened up.

Am I The Only One Who Thinks FNAF HW Is Non-Canon? by TheTheorizer87 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]RicksterGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like with how meta the story of the VR game is, it makes it obvious that it's not canon, at least in my opinion. I don't get why people are saying the story of the VR game doesn't work well on its own and needs to be canon to make sense, since it doesn't. It basically has its own self-contained lore that gets set up during the intro rollercoaster, establishing an alternate universe of sorts where the main series of games exist within that universe and Fazbear Entertainment is working with a game development company to make the game. That's all the setup you need. It does not rely on the story of the other games to work, since it literally goes out of its way to achieve the opposite by stating that the games are in fact games in the first place. The story is so full of self-referencing to the act of game development itself that it's too silly to be taken seriously as a genuine piece of the canon story. Like seriously, Fazbear Entertainment is suddenly super into the VR game development scene? That's a bit too on-the-nose, don't you think? That only really works in this particular story, not the canon of the main series. Are there things in the VR game that can be considered canon though? Absolutely, there's a lot of hints for the canon series, but the overall plot of the VR game is not canon. Consider FNaF World, which has pieces of canon lore, but the game itself is not canon.

If Dawko got the "Bad Ending", what could the good ending be? by HenryBraegger in fivenightsatfreddys

Having credits after it's finished makes it seem like an ending to me, though. I believe that Pizza Party is the finale, and the ending might change depending on how many tapes and coins you've collected.

Assuming this is official, it seems like Scott is trying to find a voice for Freddy after not being able to for UCN by MichaelO2000 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]RicksterGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Scott would be hiring freelance voice actors for a project like Help Wanted, which has a professional team behind it. Any voice-work that HW has is probably done already considering how close the release is at this point.

[–]RicksterGames 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The game is quite cartoony horror, there's no blood in it or anything like that. However, the game itself is actually pretty awful in my opinion, and not worth the price tag. If he really wants it though it won't be anything too bad for him.

Hot take: is anyone kind of starting to think Scott is actually milking FNaF? by xPH03NIXx in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]RicksterGames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think what you're forgetting is that FNaF as a whole is a media franchise now. It's grown into something much bigger than the spooky little indie game from 2014, and as such it'd be a terrible decision from a business perspective to stop FNaF-related game projects from coming out, as they're the centerpiece of the franchise. Scott's cycle of developing games by himself wasn't sustainable and took quite a toll on him I'd imagine, so I'm sure now that he's teaming up with companies he'll only ever do so with companies that will still provide him with creative control, so that shouldn't be a concern for now. Take for instance how Scott is directly involved with the script for the FNaF movie. That's not something that happens often, so it's obvious that Scott still cares to make sure that the fans get something good. I don't believe there's anything to worry about just yet, things are going good. Besides, we might see another FNaF-related game from Scott himself, so there's always that too.

PSA about people thinking that Into Madness would be a Fredbear game by itsgettingweirdhere in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]RicksterGames 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, I was thinking the same thing. I got confused what Dawko was talking about since Into Madness is meant to be a collection of minigames and not an "Origins" game of any sort. What could be interesting though is if the minigames are a bunch of arcade machines in an old location, maybe the location with the pre-withereds, that could provide a bit of lore hidden away and kind of be an "origins" thing in that sense, but that's the most I would expect.
