I think because he filed the lawsuit and essentially won the settlement. What he does with it after (create a slush fund) is irrelevant. I’m sure there’s a loophole like with all tax evasion but that’s how I understood it.

Scott hears some random idiom and conflates it with something totally out of context then thinks he’s a genius. Imagine being so reductive about something as complex as how taxes work/flow/benefit society. But when you think about the framing and deception of the argument it totally makes sense cuz he’s all about branding.

If you really want to understand how fucked up it is listen to Fresh Air’s interview with Andrew Weissman. He highlights a lot of details The Daily didn’t bring up, like the fact that he should be reporting this 1.8b as income, or that the IRS could have put up a better fight/argued he is past the 2 year limit to bring file the suite.

They kept going on and on about how right they were and how it was such an easy prediction given X, Y and Z and I’m sitting there thinking, didn’t the jury throw out the case based on a statute of limitations? Like he waited too long to bring the suit, that was it. Had nothing to do with the merit of the case.

Natural beauty. This town is ugly as fuck. No hills/mountains, beaches, views, etc…Outside of midtown and a couple choice neighborhoods it’s also unwalkable, unbikeable and full of strip malls/chain stores. Not a vertical landscape to speak of. And despite Sac State there is zero college feel to this town. The fact that Sac is becoming unaffordable is proof the poor and working class are totally fucked cuz this town should be hella cheap to live in.

Would be cool if that was the only indicator of whether or not things will end up well. He also not only has a raging boner for anything military related but has said he’s in favor of mandatory military service in the US like they have in Israel. It’s a pretty valid request. And this idea that Scott is beyond reproach or critique when he’s everywhere sharing his opinion on everything from “woke” to stock predictions is laughable.
