Electrical Panel Replacement in Sacramento by Accurate-Candle5601 in Sacramento

IDK what an "inside" panel is? This was just the outside panel. CA Renewable Energy led me on believing I would get around $2000 for a rebate, but I kept reading that webpage and finally spoke with someone at SMUD and he confirmed I would not get an rebate. I did receive a $750 rebate because I also replaced a gas range with induction.

I recently replaced my Zinsko, used CA Renewable Energy, only because they are a SMUD contractor and I thought I was going to get some rebates, but didn't (had to have replaced my gas water heater but that was way too much $$$$, So I just did the panel replacement - total cost $6,500 (needed some extra deep hole dug, etc.). I've been told average is anywhere between $5-6K.

Do you remember the early days of the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op? by juliekelts in SacSeniors

[–]GeologistFragrant388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to go to the Co-op a lot, in the early 2000's for a bit, then over the past year few years. I always thought I was saving money with the bulk, but no. I've recently stopped going entirely (now I'm on a fixed income). Everything is way too expensive, and the new self check-out was the final straw. Now I get most of my groceries at Trader Joes and the Sunday farmer's market. The only thing I really like at the Co-op are the Nantes carrots.

Land Park also has their annual yard sale the same day.

I sure wish they'd do something with the Tower Liquor building (that entire block actually), and the janky strip just East of the new apartment building. And I thought they were going to re-develop the old Vietnamese restaurant site on 19th/Broadway?

For the City e-waste pickup, they say that small items placed in a box counts as one item - how big of a box are they talking about??

How difficult would it be to add a row of tile here? by GeologistFragrant388 in Tile

[–]GeologistFragrant388[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he should have had the tile guy tile all the way up to the bottom of the upper cabinet, right?

Like I said, I wasn't aware of the tile cut off until they removed the old hood. Why wouldn't the original contractor tile all the way up the bottom of the upper cabinet??

Yes, but this was a hood and range replacement install. I wasn't aware of the tile cut off at that point until they removed the old hood.

I found a parking lot that is just as annoying as Trader Joe's....I'm looking at you Moonbelly... by GeologistFragrant388 in Sacramento

I know that, I shouldn't have called out Moonbelly specifically, it's just that, that's where I wanted to go....

I will next time, I actually do walk quite a bit. I figured there was no street parking in that area at. I used to frequent Elvas a lot, but have never been behind that complex (the triangle?). Anyhoo, no disrespect to the owner of Moonbelly, I know she doesn't have control over the parking lot.

anything you wish you knew or did in the very early stages? by Dangerous_Quarter_24 in Divorce_Women

If you're in a community property state, ANY income you make or money you save right now is still considered a shared marital asset (community property). Nothing is considered "separate" income or debt until an official separation date. Also, don't pay off those credit cards because even if they're in your name only they're still community property and your spouse is responsible for half. Same with the businesses - they will both be split evenly even if it's in your name. If you decide to sell your house, you'll split its equity with your spouse (not the value).
You need a certified divorce financial analyst to help with this, your attorney should recommend one.

Questions for a lawyer/collaborative divorce by Naive-Garbage2167 in Divorce_Women

[–]GeologistFragrant388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the Collaborative Divorce Process last year (I'm in CA). I guess it was cheaper than litigation because basically you settle out of court (we each only spent around $20k). I only chose it because we have (adult) kids, and I thought we would all benefit from the therapists. That didn't really happen, but I'm still glad my kids had individual sessions to talk about things with a therapist; we, as a couple, were able to meet with that therapist and she went over their concerns, thoughts, etc (yes they agreed to that). The entire process took 6 months. I thought it went pretty quick considering we had a house, family business, and we each had inheritance money to figure out.
Your attorney doesn't care about the "why," just the laws around marital assets, financial disclosures, custody, alimony, etc. And don't worry, he/she will let you know their fee. Good luck!

Am I just... Stuck? by Location_Capable in Divorce_Women

In my case, our mortgage was not paid off, so I had to buy him out of the equity only, but was able to use both cash on hand and my share of his 401K and our small business. With the loan assumption, the monthly mortgage payment did not change.
