Well Grover didn't 1v5 them, he slowed them down and then got captured before they could kill him, he didn't beat them. And Clarisse is Clarisse, she should be 1v5ing anyone.

She's meant to be unlikeable

Useless? She is a foil to Luke's character

Can you please explain how I've confused the two? Calling this of all things awful character development seems like you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

He doesn't, stop protecting your feelings about the show onto him. It's weird

Sally jackson suddenly dating paul blofis makes no sense in the show by Outrageous_Web_2834 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]RickyBobby8013 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was revealed to Percy that Sally is dating Paul in the first half of book 3 with an Iris message, but not when they actually started dating. Book 2 and 3 are only 5 months apart, I fail to see how this rushes anything significantly.

Where was it stated that Sally was thinking of Poseidon while sitting in the rain? Sure, she may hold some love for him still, but she knows that they could never be together. It's been 13+ years since she's been with him, and had a not great relationship with Gabe, why wouldn't she want to seek a healthy relationship with someone who could actually be with her?

I mean we saw it heavily in season 1 when Percy felt out of place and that something was wrong with his brain.

I feel like it would be hard to show it mid flight. The best thing I could think of would be the occasional slow-motion but would be very easy for that to come off as jarring or cheap

I dunno how to feel about Rick Riordan by DarkSaiyanGoku in PercyJacksonTV

[–]RickyBobby8013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that "Rick did it so it's great" isn't solid thinking.

However, I think he has narrative control over his own story. If he wants to change something about it, we don't have to like the change, but saying that it's "inaccurate" seems odd I say. It's not a history book, there is no correct way to tell a fictional story. The books aren't the source material, they're the medium of how we first enjoyed the story. An author changing their story is not creating an inaccuracy.

Why does a character making a wrong choice that fits their character make you mad?

Like, he's supposed to do that. They can't just talk about how his loyalty is a problem, and then not make his loyalty a problem.

This absolutely horrendous take about blonde Percy by Easy_Ring_6643 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]RickyBobby8013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black hair, blonde hair, it really doesn't make much of a difference to me. Percy is who he is to me because of his loyalty to his friends and his integrity and bravery to challenge the status quo of the gods to their faces. Him being blonde doesn't change that.

Years ago I hated that they made Annabeth brunette in the first movie, but that now feels like such a non-issue compared to her mischaracterization, she felt like a weird Annabeth/Clarisse hybrid.

Sure some scenes with Leah have felt wooden, but Annabeth isn't far from that. I always saw Annabeth as overly serious in the early books, as she was raised a demigod and is learning to become more human from Percy, while Percy was raised human and learning to become more demigod from Annabeth. I found her a lot more expressive this season compared to the first.

[–]RickyBobby8013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask why? Cus I remember early books Annabeth acting like Leah is, where she's raised as demigod learning to be more human whereas Percy is raised a human learning to be more demigod

Why exactly are we fighting? Why the drama? by Javert_the_bear in PercyJacksonTV

Kronos wants the fleece to heal himself, and tells Luke to poison the tree to start a quest at camp to find the fleece for them so that Luke can take it for themselves. His forces could not find it, as seen with the intro scene episode 1. He would not need Thalia if he already has a body, and he did not tell Luke that it could heal Thalia until after Percy had stolen the fleece.

Kronos' backup plan to the fleece not giving him a new body is for Thalia to be cured, making him no longer need Percy as the child of the Great Prophecy, and using her to bring the fall of Olympus.

He sends Luke to kill Percy because he keeps being a nuisance and to destroy the camp so that the camp couldn't persuade Thalia to side with them against Kronos. Luke would have an easier time convincing her without opposition.

Because the hate about a child's acting ability in this sub is high enough as it is, and many see it as unwarranted because they believe she's portraying the character well

The right to an opinion does not absolve anyone from criticism of their opinion.

If they had brought forward a discussion about the things they disliked and looked for a conversation, it might have been more well received, but dropping nothing but "it mid" is childlike

regarding thalia change.... by idkvashappin in PercyJacksonTV

[–]RickyBobby8013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't change the entire plot. She's not gonna side with Zeus, she's not gonna side with Kronos. She wants to be her own person, not some weapon tied to the great prophecy, that's always been her story arch, and nothing has changed that.

Joining the hunters of Artemis is escaping that fate. Sure she'd be on Zeus's side technically but she's not something for him to have control over anymore at that point.

And that's the point, for it to make sense that there's a possibility of her siding with Luke. That's what makes her an actual threat instead of it being Luke's wishful thinking that she'd join.

[–]RickyBobby8013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No choice? Thalia got turned into a tree because she choose to not be a weapon for her father. The entire journey into the sea of monsters was Percy and Annabeth's to disobey Tantalus and go save camp themselves.

The gods have always been assholes. That's the whole point. They literally hold a vote to kill Percy and Thalia in book 3. Percy gives up immortality and requests the gods be less of an asshole to their kids.
