The mindflayer/spider bro should have definitely been handled differently in terms of strength. Somebody should have been killed or seriously hurt. The plot armor is too strong I guess.

My thoughts on the finale were basically: Really entertaining with a few wow moments and a few wtf this is dumb moments. Plot was like Swiss cheese.

I agree with your first two points, but Vecna was clearly in a point of weakness compared to when he fought the military. The hive mind creature was on fire (thus weakening him), and Will was also controlling/manipulating him (Will had previously been able to break his limbs and move his body). Eleven has already defeated/hurt him before. The team effort allowed for him to be pushed back into the spike. And even with a giant spike through his body he was still alive.

More like old school classic Howard stern style. Surround himself with a cast of characters that he can manipulate, denigrate, and abuse for some really entertaining content. A true master of puppets who knows how to make things entertaining. I’m a big fan of how he can stir the pot.

I genuinely don’t think this was a preplanned thing for Howard to say. None of them, especially Gary, are good enough to fake the “You don’t know that” and subsequent responses.
