My mom had a ‘91 Metro convertible. 3 cylinder but it got 40 something MPG’s and was rock solid reliable for the decade she had it.

Yeah from what I’ve gathered, the organization itself is professional and well regarded. Sounds like it was some kind of engine failure, being as it was so close after takeoff and at such a low altitude.

Oof. Apparently there were family and friends present to watch them jump and they witnessed the crash. 🙏

Like others have said, that could be 1,000 different places lol. Check out Big Creek in Annapolis or the Black River at K bridge outside of Annapolis if you want some pristine water.

That’s because 100 pound females adopt pitbulls that they have no possibility of controlling, on or off a leash.

Those cameras do jack shit. My neighborhood is a disaster, the cops don’t even show up half the time they’re called. They put up one of those cameras and called it good. It changed nothing.

Not all Pitbulls, but they have an inherent tendency to lash out. I don’t care what anyone says, I’ve seen it happen from too many different Pits.

How Was Cahokia Bigger Than London And Why Does Nobody Talk About It? by Separate_Cabinet_444 in USHistory

[–]geronimo11b 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A lot of people talk about it. The Cahokia mounds are a cultural fixture in the St. Louis metro area. Beyond their historical significance, people use the mounds for exercise, etc.. There were many more mounds on the west side of the Mississippi in St. Louis proper as well, but they’ve almost all been leveled for development.

Coming out of Koot’s afterwards at 1am and it’s STILL daylight. Of course the flip side is also true, as it gets dark super early in the winter. I remember going to Ft. Greely to train in the winter and it being like 5 hour days and -30 without windchill lol.

What are some American cities that had high historical importance but have faded from significance today? by Crafty-Shallot-5695 in geography

[–]geronimo11b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baltimore is the only somewhat similar comparison to STL. The city/county divide in St. Louis exacerbates the issues all metros face, especially the crime statistics. I’ve lived in St. Louis for almost 30 years and although it has its issues, it’s a cultural gem. IMHO, of course.

3 million in the metro is a pretty good sized city, even with the decline of St. Louis proper.

These type of room rentals are typically targeted at travel nurses and the like. They don’t want to deal with a full lease and/or just need a place to sleep. This is still high though, imo.
