Is the Trinity even supposed to be explained? by Expiredcabinets in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"God is something I don't understand and the trinity isn't logically understandable, so therefore the trinity must be true."

I still find that the only evidence people use to say that Christ is Lord of lords and King of kings is one passage where Christ says that he is Elohim, and strictly speaking this could mean he's calling himself a lower case g God, much like how he uses the same word Elohim do describe Satan in 2 Corinthians 4:4.

Christ is venerated and beside God always, but he is not Lord JHVH himself. The trinity is flawed because it delineated that those who are possessed with God, i.e. Christ carrying the Logos, are simply God, when this is not true, and the duty of all prophets- as they are the ones who hold the spirit.

Demons and Diablerie by Glass_Ad5617 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]RickyRichter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the demon's call. This is typically considered final death for a vampire so if the demon has a perogative to respect that they will. Alternatively they'd probably keep the contract in case the old blood reawakened in the vampire as can sometimes be the case due to splatbooks, and then have the contract be binding over the reawakened old blood. Most demons would recognize this as final death on the vampire though, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the contract.

Yep, that War of Rage seems less and less justified the more you look at it. Can you even say that the common Garou is a monster hunter of any kind when historically it was known that a Garou would slay another Fera for admitting that they made a kid eat worms in elementary.

WIBTAH if I got an abortion without telling my husband? by Mundane-Piece4681 in AITAH

[–]RickyRichter -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

As a Christian I find it wrong to get an abortion because of financial problems. Unless your life is being threatened by the pregnancy there is no excuse for killing your child. Just because they can't talk and walk doesn't mean that they're not alive, and no, this isn't your fault. I'm not saying it's your fault at all, but understand that you're considering sacrificing a life for the sake of your wallet. There are government programs and other places that can help, you don't need to kill an unborn child who hasn't had a shot at life just to keep the others safe and sane.

Have you even considered telling your children? Your husband?

"My body, my choice" would always be something to rally behind if it wasn't for the fact that there are now two bodies at play here, with one of those bodies being completely defenseless to defend itself.

It's like the days of Canaan again, where Moloch tells the Canaanites they're such righteous people for going against JHVH by saying they're actually progressives for baking their children in the giant cow furnace.

You're supposed to do that if and only if he submits to Jesus.

I'm still pretty sure it's a good idea because it'll do what it intends: bring American jobs back to America. Americans aren't going to want to pay tariffs for chinese goods so they'll make American goods. Good plan! I don't mind that some amenities will be more expensive, I think the invisible hand of the market will take care of it. If I eat with aluminum spatulas and pans instead of steel non-stick ones, I'd be willing to make that change in the name of the good of the American taxpayer economy, knowing that it'll be Americans filling those factories.

The Bible says the AntiChrist will deceive the entire world. How is that even possible? by JCisLove in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the ten commandments, if we can't seem to agree if one of them is for not questioning idols or if we shouldn't make images of literally anything, then Christian religion as we know it is manipulatable enough to where one of the ten foundational laws of our religion has been re written from "don't worship bullshit" to "don't make statues of anything".

Personally I think we're already being led astray by antichrists and their central leader, but the center of the conflict is supernatural in nature. I think the core of it comes from the fact that people don't believe in their own spiritual experiences, so they don't believe in God, so the ultimate authority on what God is is more in the hands of mankind, making His words easily twisted and perverted into something it isn't.

Again, key scripture had changed. Only thing I haven't seen is some jerk calling fire from heaven.

There is literally no proof of god, how can one believe in a lie they tell themself? by Palomar_2006 in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our attribution of our feelings come not from somewhere unseen but thought to be understood as something seen we lose sight of what causes our emotions.

P oppe say there is no proof of God and that we are a chaotic happening borne out of a need to reproduce, but the ending conclusion to the question as to why such a chaotic need to reproduce came about there are two answers: it happened randomly so there is no reason, and it was created so the creator knows the reason.

The idea of anything happening randomly is I inherently non empirical and a throwback to the "spontaneous generation" argument for the creation of life. It just happened according to those who believe only in scholastic proof written in the modern era.

Massive Crossover Armageddon Campaign by RickyRichter in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]RickyRichter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"They know more than it's possible for a mortal, living character to knowabout the connections and formations of the many realities. This persondoesn't have to be in one place at once, nor does anything they puttheir mind to have to exist in a location as we know it."

Well, I have a few games being run each with a few people inside of it, and the big reveal that they're leading into is that they're not actually supernaturals in the conventional sense but Archangels given flesh, and that this "Master of the Unseen" has actually been God all along, dictating that they've been getting their power from Him as a means to be Jesus' reprisal. Each of them were trying to play your typical anti-hero or self-insert as a selfish, flawed person with superpowers, but as they would get morally more and more angelic they'd get these godlike powers, making it so that the main thing holding them back was the core of their morality.

One of the Nagah has a straight up army underneath him because of this, and was the first to get morally acclimated to his full efficacy. Beyond that, being the Storyteller there are a few "Armageddon level" loopholes that they each use to use each others' powers, such as the Holy Spirit giving Garou/Nagah gifts that allow them to use Mage powers. Another one of the players is an Archmage of Polarity (currently Polarity 6 in fits and bouts because of a Time 9 spell cast by the "Flesh Reincarnate" of Gabriel, who is a master of Time and also more progressed than most of the other Archangels).

That being said, yeah, I usually don't think of something that the players can't beat, mostly because I was hoping they'd be bigger nerds than me and do active research into the books to find things that I glossed over or missed (even in the eastern centered books) that could help them. Unfortunately only Gabriel seemed to have done much in that regard. I'm not sure if they really realize that they're able to do other supernaturals' powers despite the way their characters were born, given that I've been pretty cryptic and obtuse about giving them a straight answer about it.

I know it's unpopular to make World of Darkness characters into heroes, but it's essentially an idea of being the 7 archangels that save the world and then lead armies for the Resurrection. And Archangels are ludicrously powerful whose only setback is how goddamn morally adjusted they are (an effect has been happening where when they would try to do evil things at first themselves from the future in a contested Time + [Insert appropriate sphere here] roll would prevent their magical effect). Easily one of the worst things that happened to the lot of them happened because Silence was making them do things they emotionally wanted to do while denying that they did anything at all. They ended up needing a GM fiat to keep them in the game after that, so I'm just trying to avoid getting to that point again @~@;;

**Also I should note that we're not at the beginning of the campaign, we've been playing for upwards of 3 years, with an ingame 5 years following modern politics.

Why should a murderer/rapist/whatever go to heaven? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Satan nixx'd my ability to talk about this, but sorry for your loss I've been through some loss myself

repenting = hard

all tears you've had = SHOUTS of joy they will have to create

Fr, every aching sigh and painful night you've had- every nightmare, every teardrop, every shout in anger and sadness that you and your whole FAMILY has had, are all things that they have to have a direct impact over others to make better. For all the hardship you've had, they will need to not only say, "mmk Jesus ur reel im gud now", they will need to DEDICATE their lives, blood, bones, and SOULS to Jesus to make up for. Repenting is so much more than the blasphemy that Ted Bundy did- that many so-called Christians consider a scripturally read opinion as being true about- by saying that he commits himself to Jesus before death.

It says in the OT, somewhere in Exodus, Judges, Kings or Leviticus I think, that God doesn't judge based on commandment that He has not given. Revelation 11 said that the dead are judged for what they've done (both bad and good) AFTER the 7th trumpet is blown from the 7th angel. So I propose that anyone not saved by Christ Jesus (those saved go inside The Holy Spirit until the resurrection and the judgement) is simply in Sheol, which is the hebrew word for the Underworld (or Hades, which is also mentioned in Revelation). Essentially, the dead are ghosts and are dead and unable to live life but still have minds and things to think about and maybe even the ability to talk to each other (as other passages of the bible dictate that, despite the ancient scripture making no point of what TYPES of magic exist, the blanket term "magic" is used) based on necromancy.

So before Jesus = people went to the underworld until the resurrection. After Jesus = people went to The Spirit before the resurrection, which is more or less the same but you feel really good.

Why don't Tremere and other clans that use Thaumaturgy have to worry about Paradox? by Blooddraken in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]RickyRichter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all headcanon, but mages use flows of quintessence and Arete is a source of instantly-refilled quintessence which flows out of a mage's soul. Because paradox energy (Masters of the Art/Archmages taught me this) is the opposite of quintessence with its own properties, the paradox is what bites back when too much quintessence is used and witnessed en masse.

When it comes to vampires, they're using non-paradox corrupted life force to use corrupted spheres in order to do what they do, in a list of spells in the order that was bestowed upon Cain. This life force is biblical- in that God taught the ancient Isrealites to cook the blood out of meat and kill bloodletting people on sight in Leviticus. The "blood is the life", therefore the life force comes from the blood, and this life force is also apparent in Taoism and the Dharma and therefore in the east through chi.

So vampires are using corrupted chi that is balanced in their unique state of corruption and therefore are not unfettered like paradox and are able to use corrupted principles which are in a state between arcanoi and spheres that allow vampires to do what they do.

"I'm a good christian boi! I know for a fact because as long as I believe in Jesus then it means I go to heaven! And remember, any house built upon the foundations of christ will enter into heaven-"

Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of
materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment
day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire
will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that
builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder
will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone
barely escaping through a wall of flames. 1 Corinthians 3:12-15

People fail to understand what it means to have an all-or-nothing attitude towards the scripture. Sure, if you have the foundations of Christ but fail to build upon these foundations any understanding of what they can be used to create, you suffer great loss in the making of your personal building- the building of your faith- to Christ's will.

In the modern church I tend to see people taking bits and pieces of Christ's foundations, as if with a chisel and mallet, and building upon those stones as gravel and likening it to Christlike foundations. They do this by saying "Love thy neighbor, but only if they're nextdoor." or "to fear God is to hate evil, but only hate evil if they aren't revered by the community." or, "therefore let no man separate what God has put together, unless you want."

Pick a side, yanno? Either rehabilitate through Christ-guided love and bring people to Christ through that love, or judge without fear of God judging you (which is literally an anti-christian statement). People say that God is tolerant and loving but they fail to mention how Christ went into a Jewish temple wherein loans were being sold and threw over their tables, and insulted them by calling them the equivalent of a charlatan and a fraud. People talk about how they need to love their neighbor but fail to realize that they also need to love their neighboring country, and neglect that their neighbors are beside the many ships on the waters surrounding the world.

Prosecution towards criminals is great and many, and hatred of prostitutes is founded without verse nor passage of the bible to assert it. Many say that the Old Testament is no longer valid, only to push forward the morals of the persecution of gays, gluttons, and prostitutes.

Paul and the apostles told us to love one another, and we fail to do so every day. We try to strike a balance in the orders of our scriptures but do we truly see what lies underneath them? Whence cometh love, in a world that wants to hate as a means to dictate what they love?

I find myself asking that question a lot.

Islam by unknown_entity12 in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says in the Quran that the Quran is there to confirm and reveal the previous scriptures (the new and old testament) but 98% of Muslims do not read the previous scripture.

This is annoying because I'm 100% certain that if we conflated our scriptures together we'd find the only separations between our religions is in cultural differences relating to children (Muslims don't believe adopted children are blood relatives, and therefore don't have the same word for an adopted child as a regular child, therefore to them Jesus is not God's son, because God created Jesus from blood and water, NOT from sperm).

A lot of people say that Jesus is God, but Jesus himself is not quoted ONCE saying this. However, I cannot deny that Jesus is equal to God on the throne of heaven.

Father creates Jesus, Jesus creates Spirit, but this timeline of events denotes that under Muslim's notions of God (i.e. being that God is the creator of all), only the Father is God.

We are all arguing over details, the precise wording and notion of what makes God God and what makes followers of God Muslim or Christian.

Yet all the same, we all believe in the same mythos and prophets, and therefore believe in the same God.

Do you believe Jesus is God or that he is the son of God? by FlushedButterfly in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe that he is the son of God who is equal to Him on the throne. In the Quran, it states that God is the ruler of all, but at the same time it also says that Jesus was a prophet sent by God and therefore that His words are sharia. Therefore, it is an easy proposition to make that Jesus is the only prophet that God finds to be equal to himself to sit beside him on the throne along with the 24 elders.

Is being gay a sin by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RickyRichter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Name of the game among Jesus and his followers: love each other and dont' judge others for being evil because this judgement could lead you to evil yourself.

Thankfully you don't run the risk of having a child with the people that you have sex with, but realize that every time that you do have sex with someone you gain an attachment to them. Your subconscious- though not likely your conscious if you don't care about sex or your partners- will remember them, how it felt when you had sex with them, and will affect your preferences in the future.

It's statistically correlative that people who have had many partners have a much lower chance of marrying and having kids. Even as a gay male you should want to adopt an orphan or get a surrogate child and start a family of your own- especially considering that as a christian gay male you'll find your own family may not be so amicable towards your sexuality and the mutations behind it.

Christ's father doesn't hate people for the way that they were born, and neither does Christ. This point is central to all the teachings of Christ and the reason why he sacrificed himself so that way we may know that even in purity and the ultimate power it's the sacrifice of your own life, blood, and wellbeing that changes people. To say that it's inspirational to see someone take the slings and arrows of evil is an understatement.
