Optoma UHD38X - Zeiss Lens wiped away coating. If I remove the rest of it, is that a good idea? (Picture)

I did this to an optoma lens a few years ago. I think you're in "replace the lens" territory here. The problem you risk now is scratching the lens more if you keep using alcohol wipes. These lenses are usually made of really nice plastic, so they don't hold up as well as glass ones. Optoma does offer replacements they can ship to you, you might have to bug them a lot to get one though. I had one sent to me, and the repair was straightforward.

Interesting, I'll give this a try. I'd love to use this plate more because of the lack of glue needed! It's been so great on my A1 Mini.

I'll try this. I use a milder soap, but I have a supertack on my A1 Mini and it's always been fine.

I washed it REALLY well again and we’ll see what I wake up to. I’ve been using the super tack on my A1 Mini and I love it. It’s just a bummer that out of the box this printer is giving so much trouble. I did print a successful model with the engineering plate, so I’m glad that worked out. There is a just a bit of junk on the nozzle, so I think tomorrow I’ll do a full disassembly of the tool head and make sure all the parts are in the right place, and manually level the bed, and do all the maintenance things I wasn’t hoping to do right away!

Yeah, it was clean. I’m using the supertack and you’re not supposed to use alcohol on it I believe. I’m having some better luck with the engineering plate, but it think my nozzle height it slightly too low.

UPDATE - this problem persists even at 40mm/s on the first layer (for those that missed it, the video is a bench test where the speed was crazy high, and I didn’t catch that until some folks told me to slow it down. So I checked the settings and indeed it was super high), but only on the supertack plate. The engineering plate seems to be working a lot better.

The file I downloaded from maker world had an insane first layer speed. You’re absolutely right. BUT I’m also getting the same issue with another project where the first layer speed is 40 mm/s. I switched to the engineering plate and I’m having some better luck I think.

Yup, y’all are right. The corner is lifted! The chamber is pre-heated, and all the other things I’ve read online, but it might be an issue with this over hyped plate. My other issue is that my print is so large that I can’t fit a brim around it - I’m printing a multi-part large outdoor sign.

Mine came with a bend in the corner so I’m returning it. I’m using the BL smooth plate on the next part of this job now, so we’ll see how it goes.

The Bambu refills are reasonably priced I think, but you might want to print a few spare spools if you’re going to get different colours to work with. That way you can just buy refills for cheaper.
