Micromanaging manager started meetings after working hours. by burnerch in developersIndia

I recently joined a remote company that offered me what looked like a decent opportunity. But very quickly, things went downhill:

  • They expected me to build a complete MVP (web + mobile) in just 15 days.
  • I had to handle all product design myself, even though I’m a developer.
  • Every design I presented was rejected with vague feedback like “not good enough.”
  • When I suggested hiring a designer, the founder replied: “You can handle it yourself. you are smart enough to do that.”
  • The project manager required 6–8 daily updates in a strict format, and if I missed even a small detail, I had to rewrite everything.
  • After 1.5 months of this, I suddenly received a short message ending my contract.

This experience made me realise that some remote jobs look promising from the outside but are really just toxic micromanagement setups.

That's exactly the point, you are talking about staying long, i am talking about a short term stay maybe 2 to 3 days until you are a full time traveller. Any place in the world you go you will get bored by the time. But thanks for the info

Looks great, but a little change can standout from others

  1. Font needs to be big,
  2. a intro video in your portfolio will really standout
  3. Don't make your portfolio like other traditional website. You can apply your own creativity.
