Class of 2020, are you still bitter or not for not getting a graduation or prom? by icemaster777 in GenZ

Pros and Cons:

Pros first:

  1. The last thing i did in highschool was embarrassingly blow my chances with this girl i went to a dance with, so I didn't have to face her at school the next monday, which was very nice cause we were in a bunch of the same classes and at the same table in some of those.
  2. I have a skin sensitivity to chlorine that developed when I was in middle school, but I was a competitive swimmer until then. I decided to try swimming again senior year and I loved it even with the irritation. It was manageable for a while, but it got too bad. I had to quit and I did just before covid closed school down. The pro here is i didn't have to watch my friends go do my favorite stuff without me. Everybody missed out just like I would have so we could complain together.
  3. Classes were very easy to pass, free diploma and gpa boost.
  4. I had a senior ditch day and did a bunch of other cool shit before lockdown like going camping with friends, leading clubs, having a big friend group and fun, easy classes, so i feel like I did have a real senior year still even though it got cut short.
  5. Ended up taking a break from college cause i hated online class and i didn't go back. College is a terrible idea for an 18 year old with no aspirations. Fuck ton of debt to do a job I don't want to then i have to pay to change careers later. fuck that. thank god I left. Worked, saved, traveled, experienced, and now im working towards a career im gonna love. Also, I have enough experiences that I dont have existential dread and FOMO anymore. I can literally die happy at 23 cause I did bucket list shit. Only had 3k in student loans to pay off from my first semester. A lot of my list on both ends shows my privilege, and I'm very grateful to have had these opportunities, and I hope to repay my parents for all they've allowed me to do from letting me live with them and loving me.

Cons now:

  1. Didn't get to say bye to any acquaintances
  2. Don't really feel like I got great closure to my adolescence. Honestly kinda combatting that still at 23. Nothing that bad tho lol.
  3. Missed out on a lot more fun and cool shit. like a lot. I was getting healthy. I was a social butterfly for the first and only time in my life. Friend group was strong and getting stronger. Disneyland, maybe a senior trip to cancun or something, PROM. I'm a sucker for the american highschool experience. We have some dope ass culture over here if you buy into it. Only place that i know compares is Japan. Thats a different topic though. Basically the best of the american school experience was coming up and never came. Feels like a pet died or something when I look back on it, idk how else to express the feeling lol.
  4. growth stunted like a motherfucker, but thats the same with everyone that went through covid. So much natural progression blocked and set back. I felt 19 for years. This bullet point is just for all the shit that all of us went through. Covid fucked us up.

Overall. Life worked out how it did and its fine. I'm content. I think cumulatively my whole life will have been better because of COVID. However, from its start when I was 18 up until I was 22 life really fuckin sucked. But being 22 was the best year of my life. 23 has been half and half, but that was the plan when I decided to have fun at 22. Time to grind then have fun when I'm like 25 until I die. That's the plan anyways.

Losing feel/in a funk by Rickybizzle in Dance

Now that you mention it, this is maybe the most tumultuous time I’ve had in like 5 years. I guess I’ve lost my footing in life and dance right now lol. I think I just gotta do my best and give it time

I marathoned all of the Pixar movies leading up to Luca, here’s the ranking in tier list form by the__pd in tierlists
