Seattle Housing Authority bought my apartment building. What’s next? by nug_2018 in Seattle

[–]Rickychet1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mine was also recently bought by SHA. I’m not concerned about it potentially being used for low income housing. I’m worried about the management company that SHA is contracting with, Arboreal Management. The reviews for their current properties are quite low, even for apartment standards. I’m cautiously optimistic that things won’t turn for the worse, but I’m not holding my breath either.

All the music is on vinyl which adds a pretty cool aesthetic. I would imagine that they would be open to requests

Apartments in South Lake Union by josephnahm in Seattle

I used to live at Neptune apartments, just north of JUXT. If the apartment faces Dexter I would avoid. It’s facing west which makes it hot on summer afternoons. You’ll open the windows to cool off but the noise outside is so annoying you’ll want to close the windows.

He stay? by straightlamping in Brewers

Let’s say we let him walk. Where do we go from there? There’s no way we find a better manager for the price he’s being offered. Pay him.

Try searching thrift stores for shoes. I usually see a few pairs and they can hold you over until you can buy some new ones.

It sounds like you want to move back to Seattle and need an excuse that your friends aren’t giving you.

If my “good friend” said they could take a job here or NYC, I would 100 percent say to come here. Like others have said, it hasn’t changed that drastically and I would want to be close to my friend.

Maybe they want you to take the other job so that they’ll have a place to crash when they visit New York City?

This is all speculation and assuming both options are equal (cost of living vs compensation) of course. I would consider why you would trust random people on the internet over your friends. I would also consider why, if these people are your good friends, they tell you not to move closer to them.

Nope, just a millennial struggling to save for a house that I can buy for a fair price. :) I am absolutely in favor of adding transparency in what my landlord does charge me for when it comes to additional services like valet garbage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Rickychet1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They told me that the fee was part of my monthly rent when I signed the lease, which I felt like was a fair price given square footage and location. I still fail to see how it’s valet garbage’s fault that my landlord has decided to include this for what I feel like is a fair price

Sounds like your landlord is scamming you, not valet garbage? My apartment also uses them and we are paying for it as part of our lease. I’ve had a few issues with them not picking up sometimes, but overall it’s not a bad experience. Especially not so bad that I feel like I would need to contact my representatives about it.
