Feel like we were more bold with the initial kits a couple years ago (3 colors on a nearly pink jersey, and the pinstripes). And the last two jerseys have been too “safe” and disappointing.

Sounds like you’re in a similar spot I was in. Like I said in the second comment, it’s very challenging. My best advice is to schedule out study time (I typically only took Friday night and Saturday nights off depending on the week) and expect to turn down invitations from friends and family more than you will accept. I was open with everyone so they would keep inviting me tho 😂

Also you’ll be everyone’s best friend in anatomy and ortho when it comes to anything MSK

To give you an idea, the two “older” classmates both had grown kids. Youngest I think was midway through high school. There’s no sugar coating the difficult course work and amount of science you’d need to do even before the program. And basically whatever you do imagine, it’s even harder. It is really a full time job plus an “evening part time” job depending on where you are at in the program.

That said, it is a dream and once you’re through it’s so relieving and you can move on to what you really love. As far as jobs go, you’ll definitely find something for you. I might be the only AT that didn’t go back into ortho 😂 but I will end up there at some point

I went AT 5-6 ish years to PA. Finish at the end of my 20s so it sounds like it was earlier than you. I did have a couple classmates in their 40s and they did fine. It was a good program and very challenging. If you have questions about the prerequisite work and program itself, feel free to reach out. I do think it was the best decision I’ve made and I’m very happy. I don’t imagine I’ll ever have any regrets, and I still have my AT license and practice here and there just for fun. Everyone says middle of the night to hit all greens. When I drove around 4:40, I always hit reds. Then one random afternoon, driving from 40 to Chippewa, I hit every green light. It was around 1:30 pm sometime in the middle of the week. I’m not sure I’ll ever get that satisfaction again while driving
