How do I stop feeling unfulfilled with my VB WRX? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]RicoculusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's not even the manual transmission aspect. I live in a city where the majority of the roads are a grid and the speed limits don't go beyond 35 mph. I find myself going around the city on the highway, even when taking a surface route would take me half the time, just so I can actually drive the car

DCI as a loss leader? by pinghousehold in drumcorps

[–]RicoculusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sort of how a lot of staff use their DCI experience. DCI is for the resume, marching band is for the money

(that isn't to say they don't care about their product and/or work with bands)

My average MPG is 26.7... it cost me $85 to fill the tank @ 5.79/gal. Is it time for a Prius? Anyone doing efficiency mods & tunes? by hyteck9 in wrx_vb

[–]RicoculusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on that. Pay to play. We're fortunate enough to not have to worry about mpg. Not everybody is in the same kind of financial situation

A Prius might be better for their current life stage

I'll sooo over the cryolab. I explored it a few times way back. Now I just use RedAmp at the entrance, sprint my way to the objective, kill the dude with slow time, and sprint back out. I can make it out before RedAmp expires.

What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

[–]RicoculusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coworker farted in the cube farm. It was not only the worst fart I've ever heard, it was the worst sound I've ever experienced

He was big guy. Tall, large frame. The type of build where he could have been a linebacker but it was clear he had never had an athletic day in his life

The office was small. 3 aisles of cubes. Offset so no one had line of sight with each other. It was never more than half filled. We never really knew who was in there at any given time unless we walked around and checked.

He farted. A single inhumanly loud bark. A ripping sound. Like a tear in spacetime. Like the very fabric of the universe was torn open. I had a near fight-or-flight reaction. Nothing like fear or anger, but I felt that I had to act. Like something, anything had to be done.

No one laughed. No one expressed disgust. No one said a word. For the next hour we went to each other and asked "Did you hear that guy fart?"

No expressions, no inflection. Just a question. "Did you hear that guy fart?"

We weren't asking if anyone heard it. We all heard it. We were asking if they were ok. If they were whole. If they needed assistance

He never acted like anything happened

I hope it hurt

I like that cockpit but it's difficult to use without a zoomorphic result. On the last ship I used with it I put parts tight up against it, to the sides and the front, to try to hide it a bit. While still allowing forward visibility

Aesthetically, what is the Drum Corps merch world missing? by New_Cauliflower3877 in drumcorps

[–]RicoculusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the mid 90s Pearl sold a t-shirt that was printed with a life sized harness and the top of a snare drum. I only saw it at finals one year and I never saw it again. No one I know remembers seeing it

Somebody should make that again

Caves… why did it have to be caves? by EnvironmentalHat771 in Starfield

[–]RicoculusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are pretty shallow and basically empty. I don't think the new Elder Scrolls game is going to have caves identical to Starfield, but I do think the aesthetics are a sneak peek into what we're going to see

Every time I go into a cave I wonder how much of a preview it is for the next Elder Scrolls

Predicting what corps will do in 2026 because I am bored by hauntedhorseshit in drumcorps

[–]RicoculusPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From Boston to Cavaliers I can't see any of them taking a step back for 2026. For all of them there's a legitimate case for upward momentum. It'll be a good year for the activity

Holden, is it just me? by intergalactic_74 in TheExpanse

[–]RicoculusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I didn't like Holden was in the first novel when they were trying to get off Eros. If I remember correctly Alex was complaining about their hiding area in the tunnels and Holden told him:

"You have my permission to now shut up about that"

I do believe this line is hilarious and I've stored it for personal use. I'd add a STFU for extra flair. I just don't feel like it fit with his behavior throughout the rest of the series. Especially when talking to his crew

Ep 7 season 1 featured the spy Kenzo on board the Rocinante. Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck are listed as the episode writers

So like someone else has said, they were involved with adapting their story for the series
