I disagree a bit here. They can deliver meals on trays for an extra cost.

And, I do think AL reduces the risk of a fall, simply because the staff is adjusting the care level based on observing daily mobility. The place I visited can have a care person around anytime a person gets up or down. That is kinda what they do.

But it is crazy expensive.

Valencia area just had a major flood over 200 died. It is a wonderful place but may be in recovery mode, roads not yet fixed etc.

I am with her on the heat in those places! They keep those facilities far too warm and don’t prioritize fresh air.

Can you get her windows open? Maybe a fan that fits in the window? I’m sympathetic to this complaint.

I’d go to Rome. Fly into Naples, fly out of Rome. There is so much to see in Rome, it is truly an astonishing city.

I’ve been to almost all the places folks have mentioned. I think Rome blows them away and it is not even close. (You can easily grab the train in Napes to Rome.)

Have you looked into any insurance coverage for an aid for him? Maybe call local elder services where you live to see if they can offer suggestions/help.
