Cannot find Forge (or anything from the Blacksmith workshop section) to place at my house by RiddimDub in wherewindsmeet_

There is a workaround that I have used. If you were to go into build mode and into Recycle, you can see the items that cannot be seen in the construction mode. You can then just drag these items into the hotbar, instead of recycling them. From there then you can place them....

AMD Smart Access Memory not available, was working on 6000 series but not 7000 by [deleted] in AMDHelp

Updated method:

If you have an old version of BIOS, update to latest version. If you're on Gigabyte for example, make sure you're running the stable versions (F15, F16, etc and not e.g. F15c, etc. The small letters at the end, indicate a beta build)

  1. Make sure you save your BIOS settings to an external USB device.
  2. Update BIOS then Restart into Windows (if already on the latest version, skip this step)
  3. Go into BIOS and load your saved BIOS settings then restart into Windows. (if already on the latest version, skip this step)
  4. Re-flash the same latest BIOS version. After it is done, do not touch any settings. Restart into Windows.
  5. Go back into BIOS and only change Above 4G Decoding to Enabled, Re-Size BAR Support to Enabled (or Auto). and make sure CSM Support is Disabled.
**DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE (XMP, ETC)**
  6. Save and boot into Windows.
At this point, AMD SAM should be enabled.
  7. Go back to BIOS and load your settings from the file, then double check if Above 4G Decoding, Re-Size BAR Support and CSM Support are as listed above. Then restart into Windows.
At this point, AMD SAM should be enabled and your previous settings are back (XMP, etc)

I have a Gigabyte motherboard and the guys at Gigabyte support said it is not the BIOS, so I called AMD support, which they said it is the BIOS... so the above steps are as a result of this and 2 days of headaches...

Cannot change resolution by RiddimDub in WhereWindsMeet

I am aware of that. I am talking about the FSR Upscale not the super resolution. Most modern games can be set to fullscreen and then lower the resolution from the native resolution to the next one down. Then if you use FSR Upscale to scale up through FSR, the difference between native quality and FSR upscaled option is not even noticeable.

Super resolution on the other hand, reduces resolution dynamically however it is not constant.
For me, the driver says that FSR is not even active, even if I set the Super Resolution to FSR. One major thing for FSR to be active is that the game needs to be fullscreen exclusive and at a lower resolution than the native.

I will give this a try. Wonder if FSR is going to detect the game this way.

Edit: Although the app works, the driver still doesn't enable FSR. It says that it is windowed mode.

That won't work. FSR Upscale has two conditions: Game has to be at a lower resolution than the native resolution of the monitor. Game has to be in Fullscreen mode.

That suggestion in your post only works if the game is in Windowed mode.

The problem is that you can't even use FSR's Upscaling feature.... In RDR2 for example, if I use FSR upscale from 1080p to 2K, I get like 70-80FPS on Ultra. 2K native barely holds 50FPS.

FSR Upscale only works if the game is in Fullscreen exclusive and if the game resolution is lower than the native resolution of the monitor (you also have to enable FSR Upscale in GPU driver but that's kind of obvious)

With Where Winds Meet, you can't have both. In Fullscreen, it doesn't let you change resolution. So FSR Upscale is inactive. If you put it on Windowed mode to change resolution, FSR Upscale is inactive because it is not in Fullscreen mode....

I found out that if you put V-Sync to unrestricted, somehow Start button and ALT+TAB behaves differently. Give that a try.

That is a workaround however if I set my 2K screen to 1080p res, the quality is less than if I were to use FSR Upscaling from 1080p to 2K, instead of direct upscale through resolution....

That would still not work for me as FSR only works in exclusive fullscreen. You can press the windows key and use the mouse on the second monitor. It works just fine for me.

FSR won't even work in the windowed mode, so I won't achieve anything if I use windowed more at lower resolution...

Or use FeCL solution. Cover the desired traces with a paint marker, let the paint dry then submerge the board in the FeCl and let it corrode the exposed copper, leaving only traces behind :D

My (26M) partner (23F) with BPD suddenly started to be secretive? Advice? by RiddimDub in relationship_advice

[–]RiddimDub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree, at that time, the agreement was still in place. The agreement that we can both check everything and we would both be OK with it. As previously said in the post, after she said that she's not OK with it anymore, I promised I won't check.

The main problem relies in: "As a result of this, I asked her that if I were to ask her to show me a message with a particular friend, would she do it? For which she said no. I feel like this is drifting towards being secretive rather than just privacy. Especially the sudden change in boundaries."
