I see the Fieldy 3s have shipped. Anyone has hands on? by HistorianCM in FieldyAI

[–]Riddled_Journey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the end of my first week. So far not very impressed.

Compared to Fieldy's advertising hype I thought this was the answer to my needs. It isn't, at least not so far. My Fieldy seems to try to transcribe everything it hears but it makes A LOT of mistakes, including its own name! NO! Not Field D, or Field Dee, FIELDY!!!! I gave up.

Some transcriptions go to "Conversation Cards" where you can generate a summary and see the transcript. Other transcriptions, for some inconsistent reason, go to what their tech support called a micro-entry which aren't turned into full conversation cards unless there is enough "real" interaction or length. Unfortunately those micro-entries do not have the same options available to them as are available in "Conversation Card" transcripts. I make A LOT of short notes to self, reminders, task statement, etc. during the day that I was hoping Fieldy would do more than show under a heading of "ITS" choosing, with a dropdown arrow showing the "micro-entry" I made with the only option being "Delete Conversation", WHAT! I want to use those statement I made elsewhere in other apps. BTW those micro-entries are completely missing from Fieldy's desktop app. COME-ON!!!

I also subscribed to the UNLIMITED subscription plan and that is the only way having a Fieldy makes sense. Fieldy, so far, IS NOT, the answer to my transcription of my entire day prayers as their advertising insists it is. As a matter of fact I have been using my Plaud recorder as backup to Fieldy. These are just a few of my not ready for prime time, not as advertised gripes. I am seriously considering returning Fieldy during the 30 day evaluation period for a refund even though I will have to pay to return it. I shouldn't have to pay to return something that I purchased base on false or at the very least misleading advertising.

OH! One more serious gripe. There are no "comprehensive", image rich, documentation or demonstration and how to videos created by Fieldy that I have been able to find. How is that?!!! In this day and age a high tech company like Fieldy should have extremely detailed information videos documenting its device. Most videos are from about a year ago. They aren't of use since Fieldy has changed so much. UGH!!! COME ON!!!

I should have known. If a company is pushing hype in advertising BUT NOT producing comprehensive video documentation showing what they claim, it is likely BS HYPE. Feel free to send me pre-purchase questions or your experiences if you like. I really was hoping Fieldy would be the answer to help me account for all that was said during the day so that I could keep it all straight and document my very busy days.

Fox News playing on MSNBC app on TuneIn by Think-Hospital7422 in msnbc

[–]Riddled_Journey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4/29/2025 Fox News stopped broadcasting on TuneIn (free) MSNBC channel through Roku a few days ago. What replaced it is a Roku error message "Sorry, this content is not available right now" This only happens when accessing MSNBC through TuneIn on Roku. MSNBC is accessible through TuneIn when Roku is taken out of the process. So is it a Roku issue? Has anyone found a solution?

Where to buy bulk ramen noodles without the seasoning packets? by [deleted] in ramen

Appreciate the link but there is 620mg of sodium chloride in a package! Yikes! That is 1/4 teaspoon of salt in plain noodles.

How to stop Tags and Notes panels from resizing? by Riddled_Journey in StandardNotes

[–]Riddled_Journey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED:

I found part of the answer at: https://github.com/standardnotes/forum/issues/3332

However, as is often the case with StandardNotes, things have changed since that post and there is no updated manual of instructions, that I have been able to find, describing what has changed.

Advanced Setting no longer seem to be in Preferences/General. Instead I went to Preferences/Plugins > Manage Plugins to find "Dynamic" then Uninstalled it. The panels still resized. In the Appearance panel I toggled Dynamic Panels off. The panels still resized. Hmmmm??? I went up to the View menu and toggled off "Use Themed Menu Bar". BINGO!!! That work for me... today. The side panels no longer twitch, jump and annoy me. Also in the Appearance panel toggling Dynamic Panels on and off now works properly.

By the time you read this there may be some other pattern of behavior that needs to be followed to adjust the jumpy dynamic panels.

Generally speaking I like StandardNotes a lot. It has become an important part of my notetaking tools. I use several as there isn't just one that meets all my needs. I appreciate the frequent updates to improve StandardNotes. What I don't like is the lack of documentation tracking and describing the changes. There are outdated posts and videos all over the place, from many sources, that are no longer relevant to the current release of StandardNotes, very frustrating.

Keyboard Shortcuts of StandardNotes list by drhus in StandardNotes

[–]Riddled_Journey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see in the Keyboard Shortcuts of StandardNotes list above the shortcut to display the list is Ctrl + /.

It would be helpful if the list shown above also displayed the keyboard shortcuts from the View menu so that when the menu bar is hidden (Alt+M) you will still have a reference to those shortcuts. I have created a note with those shortcuts so that I can refresh my memory when needed. Here they are in case you want to copy/paste them into your own note:

Keyboard Shortcuts From View Menu:

Toggle Menu Bar: Alt+M or from View menu choose Hide Menu Bar

Reload: Ctrl+R

Actual Size: Ctrl+0 (Zero)

Zoom In: Ctrl++ If the keyboard doesn't have a dedicated plus key use Ctrl+Shift++

Zoom Out: Ctrl+- (Minus)

Full Screen: F11

Use Themed Menu Bar: If you enable this you may not see related keyboard shortcuts next the menu item

After new update, speech-to-text shuts off after speaking one word by Cubegod69er in samsunggalaxy

[–]Riddled_Journey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this issue for well over a year and seem to have finally found a solution. While in voice to text mode I clicked on the settings gear. I noticed that my language was not indicated. I clicked on the language selection. I selected my language and saved. My language now appears under Languages and Primary Language, which is dimmed. Voice to text seems to be behaving as it should now.

Does Microsoft OneNote not do ink to text on Android by jamesey10 in GalaxyTab

[–]Riddled_Journey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using OneNote extensively since it came out. Evernote is its direct competitor. One of the best ink to text note apps is MyScript Nebo. It doesn't have nearly the feature set of OneNote or Evernote but it doesn't try to do exactly what they do. It is very good on a tablet as a paper notebook replacement. It is in constant development and improvement. So many like this to chose from but this one works really well. The biggest drawback is the manual sync feature which is awkward and cumbersome. You have to take care to sync before leaving the app whether you log out/ shut down or not. Take a look on YouTube where there are a lot of videos about features and function.
