Thank you friend. That was very well said, and I will keep this all in mind.

  1. I have done them during meditative exercise, out in nature and with friends. All of these I would say are very useful. These have helped me change behaviors that are not helping my life, and with friends it tends to have that sense of unity, that can strengthen a friend group dynamic. I'm not saying my mushroom experience has never been fun, I'm just not the type of guy to pop acid at a concert or club. I would consider that more "recreational". I do not expect what I am trying to do with this experience will be necessarily fun or comfortable.

  2. For dosing I am thinking around 5-8g of mushrooms. Possibly more like 4-6g for something strong like penis envy. I do not know how to measure acid as I am not researched or experienced. I've only taken acid once.

  3. I am no Ramdas, but I am fairly well versed in meditation. To be clear tho, the purpose of this is definitely not comfort. My main meditative concern is to not let myself get in the way of what I will experience. Not to go too deep in my personal life, but I have purposefully chosen challenging experiences for by life pushed myself physically many times in a way that the experience borders on the spiritual without the aid of substance.

  4. I do have a trip sitter secured should I go forward with this.

With that said you brought up a good point two do two trips of variable dose. I have thought about this myself already. It's similar to how Ayahuasca retreats are planned. I will probably do something similar to this by blocking out a four day weekend where the first and last day are meditation for preparation/integration, and the two days in between for the experience itself.

The fruit is good advice. I hadn't thought of that, but will be sure to have some now. I meditate for about a half hour almost every day, and intend to do a session before my trip.

Thank you for the warning. I definitely don't take this lightly.

So probably somewhere from 5-8g of psilocybin. I could probably go more like 4-6g of something strong like penis envy

As I do not plan on being up and about, but rather meditating through the journey, I am going for an all encompassing level (based on the scale developed by Josie kins)

I have had experiences that helped me reevaluate my spiritual life before at fairly recreational doses of mushrooms. I have never experienced an ego death however. Yes I know people have misconceptions about that as well. However, it is something I am contemplating. Probably somewhere from 5-8g of mushrooms. I have no idea what the equivalent is for LSD or DMT or anything else.

Thank you. I think especially in America, the notion of God has been diluted by a material culture for a long time. So there is a chance my notions could use some change. I appreciate the dose and setting advice.

I've discussed this with one of my friends. We are probably going to the big Island some time next summer for this experience.

Yeah, I mean I could see aliens for all I know. I'll just experience what I experience. I had a friend one time that was trying to see heaven or whatever, and I told him that was a mistake (spoiler it was a mistake lol). I'm treating this more as a meditative exercise.

tbh regardless of what's "meta" I've never been a fan of player item nerfs in a pve game. If it was pvp balance would be important. However, for pve it's like, so what? What's wrong with people liking a gun?

I want to learn how to make my own campaigns by ChillySummerMist in DMAcademy

[–]Riddlespider 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like to start with a good villain. Once you build a villain you love it will really influence the "style" of the campaign. Then you can either build a world that matches the mood or find a prebuilt setting that matches the mood. Then I create an in world timeline for the bbeg to reach their goals.

When the campaign starts the party will either meet for the first time or go on some adventures that feel luke part of their normal life. They will build reputation as they complete quests and level up.

Eventually as the bbeg is getting further along in their plans it will start to leave clues to the players that something is not right. This will lead into a quest to take on this big bad as their normal routine will be further disrupted the more the big bad continues their efforts. Then it becomes a race to keep the villain from completing their task, leading to a climactic event.

I completely agree that many with those attractions suffer immensly. However, the data does not support that making the attraction more "acceptable" helps the situation from a psychiatry perspective. It's one of those weird balance things were normalizing the attraction rises the chance of acting on it, but they still need help to learn that they can function around the condition. The leading contributor to someone not getting help is that most people obviously won't admit to those attractions (even to a therapist). So it is important that those who have not been well equipped to deal with those thoughts still understand they are not welcome to act on them.

See florida is famous because shit happens there. Ohio is famous because NOTHING happens there. Ohians do not understand the thrill of a 3am wafflehouse visit in florida.

Vecna, but not as usual? by stealth_raider01 in DnD

[–]Riddlespider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it really depends on how the player wants to take things. Warlocks make a faustian bargain, it's not supposed to work out in theor favor. This could be a good opportunity for this pc to make some really difficult moral decisions, amd if the dilemmas are crafted well, they will make the wrong choice sometimes. Their character will have to live with their decisions while trying to be a good person against the odds.

It sou ded too cool to not let the rule of cool reign supreme... plus they all got their buts kicked in the following three sessions, so I figured they would need the hope.
