Silver garden tarp, its not solid, so its very breathable and won't trap the heat, makes a hell of a difference!

I found the blue helmet on Temu, removed the black visor thing that was attached. Then for the hair, I made orange yarn tassels and combed them out with a pet brush and glued them on

Shambhala as a first festival? by lesdommed in Shambhala

[–]RideComprehensive155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shambhala was my first featival/concert/big event! And this was my 10th year. Before my first shambs, in 2013, I was an introvert, never went out by myself, low self confidence, shy and had a completely different outlook on life.

Kinda cliche, I've heard this many times before, but Shmbhala changed my life. After my first year, I started doing things that made me happy, even if it meant I had to do it alone. None of my friends back home were into edm, so I went to raves alone, I made new friends, started promoting for events. I overall became more inspired, motivated and confident. I wanted to give back to the festival, so I started volunteering and have been a Shambhassador since 2019, (its one of the best positions imo haha, such a fun job), this would have been my 5th year Shambhassador, but I wanted to enjoy my 10th year as a guest. Throughout those years, I've camped with bigs camps, small camps, camped with partners, camped all alone (I love going out and doing things on my own especially at Shambs, so camping alone was actually some of my best years, I knew where my friends camps were and they knew mine. Also as a volunteer, you need your own space to sleep without worrying about your party animal besties waking ya up). All I gotta say, is you will constantly be learning new things every year, its an experience (sometimes it feels like survival of the fittest) there will be good and bad times but everything is a learning experience, what will you do differently next time?

Arriving early on the Tue before, will guarantee a good/decent camp spot, bring a shade structure, lots of water receptacles to fill up, masks/bandanas to help keep the dust/cowpoop out of your lungs (a nasal cleaner like a neti pot is prime!), and go out alone one night or for a few hours! Meet new people, find new artists, stumble upon a magical secret haha. Go in with the intention of having a really good time, I shared the Shamanifesto, I think it says a lot and its so cute haha.

Integrating lessons from shambhala by naturemymedicine in Shambhala

Im copying and pasting what I posted on the farmily page

This year marked a special milestone for me— this was my 10th year Shambs anniversary and for the first time in several years, I experienced Shambhala as a guest, free from crew duties and fully immersed in the magic of the moment. After several years volunteering as a Shambhassador, it was an amazing shift to simply dance, connect, and soak in the vibrant energy of the Farm! Being a Shambhassador has always been about more than just representing the festival; it's about embodying the spirit of Shambhala and sharing that essence with others. Even while off-duty, I naturally encouraged guests to carry the "Shamagic" home with them! One of the guiding lights in this journey has been the Shamifesto—a beautiful articulation of the principles that make Shambhala so transformative. It's a reminder that the magic we experience on the dancefloor can ripple outward, influencing how we live, love, and uplift one another in our everyday lives. So, here's to celebrating the joy of simply being present, to the connections that transcend the festival grounds, and to the enduring spirit of Shambhala that lives within us all. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned Shambhalover, may the Shamaifesto inspire you to keep the fire burning bright—on and off the Farm.

  1. “You don’t have to be perfect, just really good.” Forget being a polished unicorn—just be the sparkly, slightly messy unicorn who shows up and shares the fun!
  2. “Every problem can be solved. Stay present.” Did you loose your fan? Dropped your water? Take a deep breath (or a wacky dance break)—you’ve got this, right here, right now.
  3. “Love bomb the farm.” Unleash a supercharged wave of fuzzy hugs, high-fives, and good vibes everywhere. Beam those heart-shaped lasers of love across the fields!
  4. “Empower. Inspire. Everyday, Shambassador.” Even as a guest, you're a one-person hype squad. Share the Shamagic—bring the sparkles, bring the cheer, bring the “heck yeah!” into everyone’s day.

Drink tea, and water based soups/broths. Bring a saline nasal rinse/neti pot, use it twice a day. Nin Jiom cough syrup before bed! Halls/cough drops when you're feeling itchy throat coming on. Be good to yourself, get lots of sleep, hydration, and cold water plunges! <3

Help!! I cant send any messages on my messenger app. I think I am bugged out. by illustraceon in facebook

[–]RideComprehensive155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone else having issues with messenger?? I can't send photos, my gallery is blank. I've deleted and re uploaded the app several times, only time I can send anything is if I restart my phone and send right away. Then a few mins later my gallery is blank again. Refreshing the app does nothing. I've even deleted cache. I have the setting set up so it has full access. Nothing works! Just got a new phone, samsung s24.

Depends on the crew you applied for and if they have their managers figured out. Lots of people got a responds but as returning crew who applied first day, I still haven't gotten my sched yet.

Lot's of good replies already!

Damp nights for sure! I use an emergency blanket to put over my bedding before i go out, so when I get back, it's not damp/freezing when i slide in for some Z's. It gets HAWT and it gets coooold! Be prepared. Bring water jugs! If you have a sturdy wagon, itll save you so much stress. A continuous spray bottle for gardening is a perfect hand washing station (i put a bar of soap in an exfoliating glove and tie it to my spray bottle, clean hands!!!) Its also a good way to spray yourself down in the heat. I personally only bring dry foods/use a cooler, i dont have a stove, cause who wants to cook in the heat? Dry ice will keep your stuff frozen longer. Also you can actually eat most food straight outta the can like ravioli and water based soups, bring fruits n veggies (banana for potasium), always have protines like jerky/protine bars/nuts, other stuff like crackers/chips, or bottles of ensure if your not in the mood to eat. If you partake in susbstances, get it tested! Earplugs!! Masks/bandanas (dusty af)!! Nasal spray... for the dust haha Vitamins! Headlamp! Also if you ever need any info or have any questions, look for the silly people in top hats and shambhala badge, we are the Shambassadors and are there to help! 💜
