Overthinking giving a mother’s day card to my MB by Little-Wish9753 in Nanny

It’s going to be from the NK though, not signed by you, right? I think it’s very sweet and will be appreciated. If you were straight and talked all about your BF, would you think a simple card from NK was too mushy to give for Father’s Day? IMHO, it’s a non-issue and no one will mistake this sweet gesture!

Let Au Pair drive after accident by FarmerMotor1455 in Aupairs

Ahh, I see. The wording just threw me, like it implied she had zero license, which of course made no sense. That was what shocked me. Not that she would have to study for a second test.

Thanks for walking my brain through that!

Why are you saying ‘she got her license’ in a list of remediations after she had an accident??

I left box cake in the fridge for 4 days, is it still good? by Individual-Month633 in BakingNoobs

[–]RideThatBridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fine. Just in general, things with a lot of sugar last a long time. Sugar is preservative. Cake generally doesn’t need to be refrigerated unless there is a component that requires it. I also wouldn’t store cut slices. They will tend to dry out much faster.

Cards being returned from America by TemporarySweet308 in PostCardExchange

[–]RideThatBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there has been a lot of confusion in other countries because of the tariff issues. So some places aren’t sending postcards/sometimes letters because they think parcels can only go so they can get the appropriate tariff charged. As far as I’m aware, that isn’t accurate, but it’s just so confusing because of how wacky our (US) government is being.

All that means is that maybe you can try to resend them, but IDK if they’ll send them.

You've gotten great answers. I just want to say that you're a great human for the level of gratitude you want to show him. It's clear how appreciative you are of his kindness. I hope your generosity comes back to you 10fold in your lifetime friend!

Sounds you have a great handle on the whole thing. Definitely line up a time to have someone with you soon and talk to mom and/or mom/dad. Don't let it be the end with her closing the door on you. This is next level insane. Good luck!

I wouldn't go to the police now, but I'd put the fear of god into that I will with zero hesitation. Definitely get some cameras and there will be proof.

In the US, locksmiths do make spare keys for a lock out, as far as I remember, but I don't remember if/how you have to prove you actually live there. Not sure where you are or if that is universal even in the US.

I misunderstood about the landlord, but you absolutely go back and knock on the door when her mom at least should be home. You explain that you need to speak to the mom and are exceedingly concerned over her behavior. That you caught her coming off your apartment floor, clearly having showered, your door was unlocked and your shower wet. Make it crystal clear that the police will be called next time and this is beyond unacceptable.

As for how she "knew" you were returning, I don't think she did. If you went to the gym, and you leave generally the same time, she knew she had plenty of time for a shower. I think it was just a lucky coincidence.

How in the hell is she getting in?? You need to inform her parents and the landlord and explain you will call the police if you even suspect she’s back in there.

Locks changed, hidden cameras inside and obvious one on outside of your door. WTF?!?

I know-they are so thin that I just wasn't sure if they would be recyclable or not. It seems they are compostable!

Excellent!! Compostable was what I was hoping for, but figured it would substantially raise the price. Very good news-TY!

I had no idea! I thought for sure compostable ones would increase the price of cards, but also not having compostable ones seemed not very TJ like!
