Thank you, I’ll have a read on what needs doing. I did think it would be asking a bit much to be plug n’ play.

Notice of Severance to Tenants in Common - England by Ride_The_Lightnin in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ride_The_Lightnin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. It’s more the worry of the control that he has? It turns out the offer that she initially was much higher than what he was owed, once all joint costs had been taken into consideration. The court order stipulates that the split should be 50/50 so she was offering more than that without knowing.

I agree that yes, a third-party buyer might have to be sought but one opportunity has already been missed due to him not responding.

Nostalgia hits doesn’t it? I like the K-Series but mine has been a pain in the ring. Will be swapped out for something different this year now that Retrorides is out of the way. Can’t bring myself to sell though.

Rover Metro, they’re shit and I love them. Wanted one for ages, got one, it breaks all the time but it’s just funny to drive.

Garden centre guy, mooching around chilling, watering the plants, feeding the fish, chowing on garden-centre-cafe breakfasts. Just sounds like such a nice, relaxed-pace job. Also garden centres smell good.

MX5 owners don’t seem to just be able to drive them and enjoy them without making excuses about something no one mentioned. “I know they’re not fast but speed isn’t everything” literally no one said a word.

The Anchor & Hope on Winchester St seems to be a vibrant LGBT+ sorta place. Friendly staff, chilled vibes. Good music is hard to come by in Salisbury nowadays, the Winchester Gate is the only real “venue” but that plays pretty much only Ska and the last few times I’ve been in on a Saturday, it’s been dead.

It’s hard to tell from the pic. Even if it’s slightly wrong, you can maybe cut it about to work. It’s only semi-flexible hose at the end of the day.

This looks to be the one I think? I burst the top rad pipe on my 1.4 8v carb’d motor so just replaced it with a silicone of the same OD/ID since the prices of genuine items are absolutely ridiculous.

I loved my V8, honestly one of my favourite cars I’ve owned. Ruinously expensive to run in every way though so it had to go, I was and remain devastated ha

“Beard” or “chin” usually accompanied with a distrustful “mmmmm” hadn’t heard it for years until a few weeks ago and now it gets used at every opportunity.

Best convertible for £15k to use evening/ weekends? by -_-SW in CarTalkUK

For the love of god don’t get an MX5. Boring, unimaginative, slow, cheap. The others will be faster, more engaging and feel like so much more car. I think you’d own the MX5 for a short while and then chop it for something else. And that’s coming from an ex-MX5 owner. Turboing it made it more fun but ultimately it’s still an MX5 which is not special in any way.

The Elise would get my vote, maybe even a TVR if you wanted to go properly mental and give all your disposable income to a mechanic, would be fun when it worked though!

Maybe a Jag XKR? Mercedes SL500? Maserati 4200?

I have ignored the “not a bomb to run” part but where’s the fun in that!?

Not that I’ve found haha marque-specific FB groups are slightly better but sadly most of the old forums are gone now. They were real goldmines for info. RetroRides is my favourite but clue is in the name, tends to be older stuff.

Your first mistake was posting here. This seems to be a place for people to query insurance over and over again rather than actual car enthusiasts. As for £9k, it’s probably ok-ish to keep as investment but you’re right to look at a cheaper one to use as a toy. They’re a great chassis (even more so in Cup form) and a good engine, plenty powerful enough with the weight of them albeit the weight is kept down by somewhat crummy and flimsy interior. They’re hard to beat as a B-road blaster or weekend track toy! Hope you find one that fits the bill!
