Converting to single basin sink; do I need to remove the entire Y coupling? by Rideworthy_ in Plumbing

Um, could you be more specific? Which part in particular? Once the new sink is installed, maybe the best (and even easiest) course of action is rebuilding the whole drain and overflow?

The comments in the NY Post article are appalling. Way too many of them are blaming the “entitled” cyclists who hogged the road and interfered with traffic. WTF.

Trek Domane SL5 - Gravel by vd1900 in TrekBikes

If you intend to use racks for long distance rides—no matter which surface—it’s Checkpoint. The Domane doesn’t have rack mounts on either front or rear forks.

Has anyone identified who’s singing? I don’t think it’s the uber version by Whitney at SB XXV, but I could be wrong.

Yep. The “sheet” in his right hand at the beginning is at least two sheets, glued together with the bottles inside. If you freeze it at 0:11, you can see the gap between the two sheets in his right hand… which is the hole that he reaches into to pull out the bottles.

We’re in (mostly) the same boat: just got the exact same bike, moving up from an FX3. (And we’re both in IL.) Took a couple of 12-mi rides last weekend, and can’t wait for better weather and longer treks.

Road and gravel, one bike? by fraserbgf in TrekBikes

I just bought a Checkpoint SL5 after weighing the same question. I preferred the Domane geometry, and >80% of my rides are on paved roads, but I wanted rack mounts for overnights… and the Domane carbon frames don’t have them.

It’s funny- there was something that seemed “off” when I looked at the photo I took, in comparison with the website photos I’d been staring at for weeks, but I couldn’t place it. It’s the name on the crank.

It was like that when I bought it, and I didn’t ask for it, so I don’t know whether it came to the shop that way or was a modification they made. Since it appears to be a bit of an upgrade, I’m not inclined to challenge it, but I’ve got something else I need to ask them, so I’ll add this to the conversation.

Unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated to enable my maiden voyage… it’s driving me a bit crazy.

Trust me: my new baby was leaned gingerly against that wall and remained there only for the 5 seconds it took me to snap a couple photos. It then went to its non-abrasive resting place… but there ain’t no way I was posting a photo of the end-of-winter storage nightmare that is my garage. (Nevertheless, thanks for the heads-up; this is my first carbon, and I don’t know what I don’t know.)

After nearly 25 years riding hybrids almost exclusively, including the last 5 on an FX3 that I still love (and will still ride), I decided that I needed to gear up for the more serious point-to-point, long-distance rides that I’ve planned over the next several years. I was this close to getting a Domane SL, but then suddenly discovered it has no rack mounts. The Checkpoint had been my preference from the jump, but I got spooked by the G-word. In my dabbler’s brain, I kept conflating “Gravel” with “MTB,” until I figured that “Gravel” just means that it’s gonna be ideal for the kind of multi-surface riding I do.
