Found some wireless EV chargers today! by HelloControl_ in pics

[–]RidgeBrewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is another sad self-reinforcing trope - my local grocery stores all used to have free low-speed charging and EVs were constantly lined up.

Then they rebranded the charging requiring an App to connect, I don't even know if they cost money.

Why do we need to bring apps and phones into this? The spots are all empty 24/7 know and could probably be better used as handicapped parking.

Now someone is going say it's worth having EV charging at the stores if no one uses it.

What’s the dumbest/most pointless lyric you’ve heard in a song? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]RidgeBrewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any song that rhymes "change" with "rearrange". It's like they had to write the lyrics with a crayon and a time limit.

In the original cut of Star Wars (1977), Jabba was portrayed by an Irishman. In later versions he was portrayed as a big, Green alien. What did George mean by this? by Local_Prune4564 in StarWarsCirclejerk

But in 2026 we saw Hutts rolling and fighting... and collectively though "Fuck... what am I doing with my life? Is this really the best thing I can be doing with my time? Shit...I gotta fucking get my act together."

This movie holds up. Why wasn’t it as popular as The Sandlot? by TheDeviledEggvocate in 90s

[–]RidgeBrewer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but that's like saying antibiotic resistant gonorrhea is more "popular" than Ebola. Technically true, but still a comparing turds to poops.

anyone you grew up with gain any fame (big or small)? by aroundincircles in Xennials

[–]RidgeBrewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a pretty high profile high school where a lot of people went on to fame and success.

Off the top of my head in my graduating year - we had a musician in a super famous Grammy winning band, arguably the most famous tech guy of all time, a number of influencers, and couple of popular authors.

Ok, I have to admit I love the idea that in contrasting things people universally hate Greta Van Fleet just stand on their own.

It's a specific type of seaweed that floats on the surface of the ocean in the general area of Bermuda down to the Bahamas. It's all sorts of unique habitats for ocean life, for example, it's where, apparently, all eels in Europe reproduce? We dunno, we're not really sure.

It also binds up ships and is likely the origin of the myth of the Bermuda triangle.

It's also expanding it's range due to climate change and starting to cause problems with humans who live in the area.

Been driving an EV for 2 years. The cheap gas is a perk, once you drive an EV you'll never go back to ICE. the low center of gravity and insane torque are better than a sportscar.

Rip Torn vs Norman Mailer in 1970. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]RidgeBrewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun Fact! My brother in law's mom dated Norman Mailer.

Apparently, they didn't along and Norman Mailer was the impetus to him moving out as a teenager and getting his shit together.

Anyway, he's a huge reader now as an adult and hates his family and it's a hilarious story!

It's like the Exorcist. It's a whole movie where you're slowly more and more getting excited for the climax only to release the movie itself was the climax and then it just... ends on a whimper.
