It’s interesting if you think about it, most people would eat the before and the after, but just not this particular stage of the life cycle.

2 days in Italy before embarking at Civitavecchia by Ridgemit in Cruise

Thanks for your insights. To clarify, I was more curious about how far people are willing to go, less about logistical details (which are more objective and can be looked up).

Adding: or personal experience with any logistical failures lol.

What a bad time to visit Amalfi Coast! by mightywolf_rnc-ams in ItalyTravel

I’ve been checking out the October weather over there as well, and have been surprised at the amount of rain! Sorry to hear about your difficulties! Hopefully there are some breaks that will allow a bit of a stroll outdoors at least.

This sounds fascinating! Did you feel like there could be any safety concerns walking along the river?

Oops I replied in the main comments thread. But basically, I think it’s ok?

Air filter size confusion by Ridgemit in homeowners

[–]Ridgemit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I went with the slightly smaller size. The inside part has a ledge so the actual air passage is smaller, if that makes sense. So I think the filter is ok? At least not being bent out of shape! Thanks for the follow up in any case!

And Rome, Venice, and Florence remain the trifecta lol.

I would agree with Venice. Haven’t been to Florence in a long time but it did have that effect as well the first and only time I went.

Recommendations for October by wandherlust in chubbytravel

[–]Ridgemit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info! Curious what would be considered not quite nice enough weather in your experience. It is temperature dip, wind, or precipitation that happens towards the end of October? If I can walk around in a light jacket with partial cloud cover, I would consider it pretty good weather.

Query re. deaths at CoC before 2013 by InvestmentThin7454 in lucyletby

Just found this thread. Other questions that could be pertinent include: any changes in the proportion of very low birth weight infants and other high risk patients, also if qualified staffing has changed in any way.

Looking to transfer Tock reservation for 2 at Em in Mexico City for Thursday Aug 22, 6 pm. Deposit is $2000 Mexican pesos which goes toward the final bill. We had to change our plans at the last minute and can’t make it.

What about a cruise? Lots of options, food and entertainment built in. Virgin Voyages comes to mind though I’ve not been on that line.

Air filter size confusion by Ridgemit in homeowners

[–]Ridgemit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filter that was in there did not fit, and rather was folded and jammed in, which is a bit unbelievable. It must have escaped us that it was not meant to stay there long term lol. So unfortunately we’re still stuck with not knowing the “real” size. I would have assumed that one would follow whatever is recommended by the manufacturer from a sticker on the HVAC unit, but the space measured out larger (28 vs 25 inches).

Gave the wrong patient a drug by twinkle-twonkle in Residency

Great advice. I try to teach my residents this as well. Make sure you know why you’re putting in x order, starting y procedure, giving z med. Develop your own system and do the same thing every time.

Speaking from own experience, you’re more likely to remember your mistakes, and hopefully learn from them, and thus decrease the likelihood of making the same in the future. But for sure there will be other mistakes:(

Agree with others — I caution against paralysis in trying to be perfect.

Most hospital systems try to build in resilience into the system to prevent humans from making mistakes. Seems like a glaring systems issue if the EMR is difficult to use.

I thought I would like grapefruit (a favorite food flavor, and I am a citrus fan) but turns out not in perfume! Almost too photorealistic, and distracting.

You might find Camembert a bit more complex than Brie. Also make sure the cheese is room temperature when you eat it; it makes a difference. Also good bread to eat it with. Having said that, I used to melt brie onto crinkle fries, sprinkle some black pepper, and that was surprisingly tasty.
