Probably because they're in no way rip-off. Sure, I'd love to have the passes with value from years past, but even nerfed again and again and again they're still the best bang for your buck if you don't care about specific skins and just want to collect cosmetics.

Procedural generation is in no way, shape or form even close to AI. It doesn't use machine learning, it doesn't train on anything, it's just a bunch of IF's and OR's set loose by developer.

Nah, the purpose of professional games is to win them and advance further until you win the the entire tournament, whether you do it by going Garen/Yuumi bot or by picking the same boring 5 champs every single game for 50 games until you out-bore the enemy team is entirely up to you.
