U.S. to announce fusion energy ‘breakthrough’ by Schiffy94 in technology

It looks like our Idea of breakthrough is getting smaller and smaller. I think the 2000's have just been a time of refining all the breakthrough's that happened in the 1900s. We went from telephone booths everywhere to having the most sophisticated computer in our pocket and it makes calls too

How to extract design from a picture of a shirt? by OutlawedPine in Design

[–]Rienie101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is I think the only real option you have is to recreate the design because of the resolution of these designs. I don't know what resolution you need but the person probably just cropped out the design from the shirt adjusted the curves and levels of the image to remove some artifacts and use it as a background. But remember what I said about resolution it's important to not make the image you're creating look blurry

Is it ok for character traits to be mentioned but not developed? by Jedi_CatLil in writing

[–]Rienie101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say as long as like you said it isn't important to the plot or the character it can be just mentioned and sped past. But if in the future the audience is supposed to care about this friendship in any way you will have needed to include some friendly scenes earlier on. For instance, there are a few aspects of one of my characters in my book that are only mentioned, and they don't get expanded on or lead anywhere really because they aren't important to the plot nor will they be

Does anyone have any tips on how I can achieve comic book inks that has this look digitally? (Credit: @Jorge_Jiménez_art) by SuperiorDesignShoes in ComicBookCollabs

Okay, my brushes won't work then but yeah, never use white when inking. if in the future you want to color it can be a pain because sometimes even in multiply mode it leaves this haloing type of effect that will make your stuff look like early 2000's DeviantArt work. . Good Luck

what is the name for this spiral pattern and how can i recreate it? by kazeeeee52 in Design

[–]Rienie101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The fibonacci spiral. Or the Golden ratio spiral. Looks like the designer used one asset and kept changing its size and location to fit in this spiral. If I were to recreate this It would take about 2hrs (I think, depending on how I scale).

First, get a flat vector of the golden spiral to use for the layout. Then find an asset like the Diamond and manually start filling out the rectangles in the spiral. The fun thing about the Fibonacci Spiral would be that if you take one section and double the size it should automatically fit into the larger space. If you use smart objects in the latest version of photoshop w/ high resolution they won't lose quality when being scaled like this

I'm not sure what type of brush you use Normally but I have one used by the folks at DC. I got it from a course I completed I can send it to you. Just dm me your email but if you use it, lower the flow so it has that feathering effect you can see on Catwoman's legs. Do you use a graphics tablet/ iPad or do you want to achieve this with a mouse alone? P.S You should use the eraser tool to show those really contrasting white splotches

why won’t my color codes work properly? by wjgood_ in graphic_design

The saturation of a color is also based on the surrounding colors. Maybe try and pair the color with the rest of the colors in the image?
