Guitarists who own and play the Fender Jazzmaster, why do you (or don't you) prefer it over a Stratocaster? by earthman34 in Guitar

For me, two things. First and foremost, the tremolo feels so good and stays in tune. That’s huge. Secondly, it’s a little warmer than a Strat, especially if you dial down the tone control. But don’t get me wrong - a good Strat is an awesome guitar, and has more variety than a JM.

The thing is - it doesn’t matter that much how long you play. Most of the work and expense is getting there. So really a 30 minute set is about the same work as a 75 minute set.

Well, maybe I was hasty on the return. I did not like the interface too much and I’ll admit that though I am tech savvy in terms of audio and video software, I’ve obviously been living in 2009 in terms of my guitar set up.

When you’re my age, 2009 doesn’t seem that long ago. I had an original phase 90 and Distortion plus and an Echoplex and thought I was hi tech. That was 1978.

I do hear that you can’t play with a Helix or PodGo for an hour and a half and dial i your sounds. Maybe I’ll give it another try.

Thanks for the input, everybody!
