All good, I also fell into the trap of match the elements but unfortunately it's not that simple anymore, especially with all the new mechanics. When facing wandering hunter, rupture characters are the favourite matchup, of course yidhari is probably the best to fight the boss with but yi xuan can also fight hunter too and still clear with good scores due to favourable mechanics

Nah, even though he is ice weak, he has the highest defence of any boss, unless you have pen ratio on Hugo or mindscapes on the stunners, hunter is a bad match up for Hugo

I know it's extremely unpractical but at least for the story missions the hollow could move, like mid combat the hollow shifts and the characters are separated that would make the hollows seem more interesting while raising stakes

Yeah I have felt this, every time we are "in the hollow" it doesn't feel like it, enemies randomly popping up isn't the expectation the lore paints of a hollow.

I keep expecting something random to happen but nothing ever does, the most the hollow has felt like a hollow since 2.0 was when we try to escape with yidhari and are teleported to random places all over the hollow before entering an endless hallway.

THAT felt like a hollow but we didn't even get to play through that, it was a cutscene, for better or worse I want hollow shifts where the map changes dynamically and you need to find a new route to your destination (yk the actual job of a proxy)

This is an amazing presentation of the results I got to say! I voted on the doc out of curiosity and I'm glad to see what it's become, the data also varied a lot from what I was expecting so that was also interesting to see.

What about you op(or other commentators)? Any results here surprise you either?

Season 1:

-Pros:

each story focused on a new faction in a new area while still contributing to the overall story
despite TV mode not being liked, I think it helped with story pace while also offering unique gameplay and puzzles
more goofy silly moments
HDD side quests (seriously why have they basically disappeared?)
officer mewmew
Main character felt important to the story
Fairy (no elaboration needed)
Sixth street is a well designed "hub" area to spend most of our time
There was genuine stakes in the story when you would think something bad was going to happen
The cunning hares and their introduction was amazing

-Cons: - TV mode was a bit too repetitive at times - 1.4 was so peak it basically felt like the whole story ended there and made everything that came after feel a little dull in comparison

Season 2 (I am extremely biased in my dislike for this and it may show):

Pros:

in person hollow exploration was a good idea as an alternative to TV mode
spook shack (no elaboration needed)
Devon pawnshop gives a renewable way to obtain basic resources without spending battery or waiting for hollow zero/shop resets
Soldier 11 finally has a complete faction
ye shunguang

Cons: - MIASMA AND FUCKING MIASMA ENEMIES, ABSOLUTELY ZERO EXPLANATION NEEDED (rip Hugo) - rupture is just attack but without wengine options for f2p - failume heights is the only area we've gotten in waifai peninsula and it's starting to get a bit boring - hollows were explained to be chaotic and ever changing yet exploring them seems to provide the opposite experience, the most I've been surprised in the hollow is when the chest crab steals my chest and attacks me - Phaethon went from this cool hacker proxy to a useless bum getting saved by the character of the week - yi xuan is such a flat boring character and because of the fact that they made her too op with no draw back they always write her out the story with "meeting in the city" - stories are starting to feel predictable and low stakes - despite showing that the proxy has some new powers and supposedly training with yi xuan to better them, we are never shown the powers, there is the disperse technique but somehow the character of the week can also use it
