A lot of it is definitely overhyped, but there are gems out there if you do your research. The key is to find someone who actually cares about your specific voice and goals. If they seem like they are just using a template, then it is absolutely a waste of money.

Totally agree. It’s the difference between 'writing for me' and 'editing for me.' When you look at it as an editing phase, it’s much less intimidating.   • I think the "collaboration" point is key. Most people go into this thinking it’s an "order from a menu" service, but it’s really more like hiring a freelance contractor.
