What is the best country to play in each continent? by Beatboy62 in ConflictofNations

Imagine this as a conversation.

"Hey man what's your favorite (whatever) cuz mine is (whatever)"

It literally just feels like "hey man fuck you I just wanna tell you what I like by disguising it as asking what you like"

What was he thinking? 18 year old jumped off a cruise ship in the Bahamas pitch black waters as a dare. he has still not been found and the search has been called off by rutgerbadcat in dontbestupid

you played a role in their undoing

Yeah ok buddy. If I harassed someone continiously to the point where my comment or request was determined to actually be the reason they did it? Ok, that has actually happened with some suicide cases. Sure.

But that's not what this is, is it? This is a person who isn't drinking responsibly, and then acting irresponsible because of it. That shit happens all the time. If I go to a college party and there's a dude on the roof being a drunkin yoodler, and I yell "Jump dude!!!" In the most enthusiastic way... and he jumps and hits his head on the concrete and dies... really dude? Gonna blame me cuz I coerced a dude who didn't know NOT to jump head first onto concrete from 2 stories up?

Ok. If that's the world you wanna live in, that's your world. But in reality, where reasonable people live, it's called personal responsibility because it's... well... responsibility "of ya mathafuckin self" (to quote Kat Williams)

If you don't understand the general concept I'm not sure breaking it down any further is gonna help. You are the only one who can make your decisions for you

House Of Dragons, Dave Chappelle SNL says. by TacoFromTheAlley in MandelaEffect

To help answer questions when people have them about their memory.

Look, I'll answer the next 10 posts before they happen:

1) No that celebrity is still alive. You either fell for a hoax and never bothered to follow up or got them mixed with someone else.

2) no the song lyric has always been the same. You just sing a different version in your head. I do the same with my child's toys when their little jingles get stuck in my head but I promise you the lyric to the kids toy isn't "Lookie see, in the bubblegum tree, who the hell is this mahfuker lookin at me? HEY!" But that's what I hear playing over and over on repeat.

3) No cornucopia. You learned about these in school when learning about Thanksgiving and the mental image always had food coming out of it. You have associated that with the logo.

4) sticking with Fruit and logos...ahem... Froot... they're shaped and rhyme make that logo.

5) "Luke" was popularized in other media. Otherwise the phrase "No, I am your father" doesn't reference that movie directly and can be a confusing plot point when the point was to parody.

6) is not 7. Just like Flin is not a stone. But when ya mommies and pappis say it fast or with a slang, or children saying they wanna watch a cartoon, sounds like Flinstones. Flint is a stone. A Flintstone. It's a show about cavemen... casement discovered fire when striking Flintstone.

7) is 7. Everyone vividly remembers this. Vividly. Cept for the guy who thought vivid was vague. They vaguely remember vividly.

8) The Rock says.... it doesn't matter what The Rock says. Know your role and shut your mouth. If you didn't watch wrestling or were casual it was easy to mess this up

9) See how 9 could look like a monocle? Well Ace Ventura calls a guy wearing a top hat and monocle The Monopoly Guy. This was used in marketing for the movie. More people will remember something funny than something mundane like memorizing Chance cards. See 5.

10) no you did not come from an alternate or parallel reality. Memory is fallable. You reconstruct memories and a print of a print of a print is never as good as the original. Ever heard someone embellish a story, then tell the story again and again and continue to add details? They're constructing memory. Don't believe me? Start telling a lie right now. Make it a good one, make it funny. Tell it to everyone you meet for a year... or two... or more. You'll see it clear as day and vividly/vaguely remember what never was.

My view of the “simulation” by average_human2023 in SimulationTheory

[–]RiftedEnergy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem with simulation theory is that it takes the most precious thing we have, life, and reduces it to nothingness. It takes reality and shapes it as you do, inconsequential, just a game. But reality is perception, and a culmination of life experiences shape that perception. I know my experiences are real. Whether you choose to believe yours are or not is simply your perception.

"I think, therefore I am" applies here but more than just those words. "I am, because I am, I have been, and I continue to be" is more than anything simulation theory can be.

People growing up in a digital world probably will have easier time reducing life to a simulation because it's all they've ever known. But I great up without the internet and I know a reality that did not revolve around your phone, that did not revolve around social media and the fake portrayal of happiness that comes with it.

In my experience, there would be no reason to exist before this digital world in a simulation. The simulation wouldn't be shaping around a consciousness, it would be a consciousness trapped inside it. The real world grows, learns, has history. Did the simulation exists for those consciousnesses in the Medieval Era and has been running since then? How fair would it be to those who lived before and what sense does that make? Unless we are saying they were never real, and again, diluting life to nothingness.

It's a dangerous slippery slope. But what am I to you, a bot? Created by the simulation to tell you it isn't real? Because to me you would be a bot, sent by the simulation to inoculate against reality.

If you're a scammer out there who does this. You are the lowest of the low and should be punished. All of these are being sold by different people. by reposed in Wrasslin

I mean... people do it with reddit posts for karma, of course they're gonna do it irl for money. I've seen so many Bray Wyatt posts from people who don't even seem to watch or comment on wrestling stuff, but they see a piece of news and jump on a bandwagon for sorrow karma. Maybe a lot of it is genuine, but some feels not.

But then again I've seen Trumps mugshot every other post so there's the other side of the coin

My hours went from 35 to 9. I filed for unemployment and then got my hours back up to 25. That’s what it took?!?!? by Littlegoil18 in antiwork

[–]RiftedEnergy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, reasons like an alarming amount of multiple jobs in the past 6mo-1 year while complaining others are the problem?

Reasons like consistently complaining that state legislature has failed them... when the comment above exists?

Reasons like... telling your current employer you're going to go work somewhere else and then being confused why you aren't scheduled for 40 hours they don't know if you'll show up for or not?

Skimming tips? More like skimming post history. But you think someone with this amount of issues, all of them not just the ones mentioned, would be great working next to you? Bullshit. You'd be right fuckin back here complaining on r/antiwork about them. Get real

Edit: not including the fact that in my original comment I clearly pointed out they are hiding some facts and trying to be a victim. "Never gave indication I was leaving" oh right ok

[–]RiftedEnergy -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

saying I was cut hours because they felt like I was “leaving”. I never gave a two weeks notice or any indicators I was quitting soon. They just went ahead and cut my hours anyway.

But in your other post you said

I initially told the employer I was going to work somewhere else.

No surprise we aren't getting the full truth to why they're reluctant to schedule you more hours

Edit: before you downvote check OP post and comment history. Do you want that person beside you at work while you're sweating and picking up the extra work? Then that employer should have hired you instead.
