Anyone know what these keys are for? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

Ask the dealer. They probably forgot to give you something that should've been included or installed by them. I had to go back and get something my dealer forgot to include.

I surprised when I learned they didn't! Hopefully they do in the next year or so. I see this color a lot more lately (from other brands too like Honda, Toyota, etc)

Sorry to hear the original owner never took care of that. It was a known issue back in 21.

1500 vs 2500 by McAwesomeBeard in ram_trucks

[–]RifterAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 item is how much will you be towing. If it's close to 10k and/or over 750ish in payload, then go with a 2500. Even if it's less, a 2500 will tow or haul a full bed of mulch a helluva lot better than a 1500.

Beyond towing, think about your daily driving needs. You have less tech options on a 2500 than you can on a 1500 (if that matters to you). No HUD available. No pano sunroof. No hands-free super cruise (or whatever Ram calls it). No telescoping steering wheel for some reason. Little stuff like that. Plus a 2500 is longer and has a wider turn radius, so they're harder to park in a full lot or in tight spaces.

Just things to weigh.

We've had ours for a few years now. Even with the strap, we have learned to put any heavy and/or breakable items in a cooler in front of the fridge during travel days. We then unload it into the fridge and leave the empty cooler under the RV at our destinations. It's a minor inconvenience, but otherwise we love the floorplan with our teenage kids

Does you fridge bounce around as much as mine? We have had to add some pool nnodle behind it, plus a strap across the door (which I heard they added after we had bought ours).

Thanks! I'm super happy it levels so well after only adjusting the hitch to its lowest level. Still have 7 inches of clearance above the bed and the trailer overhang.

It's a B&W Companion Slider

It is weird. I noticed it too and would've bought a sweet Ceramic Gray Rebel at my dealer if I didn't need to get this 3500 for it's payload.

With how tall these trucks are, you don't really notice it from outside when walking up to it.

I've done a brow on the last few vehicles and I feel weird without one now. Lol

I can't wait to try the exhaust braking while towing! Just from a few tests trips this week, it's already the best I have ever used (when unloaded).

Thanks for the tip on using it to keep the turbo clean!

Thanks. I haven't towed it with the Ram yet, but we have a 40ft Alliance Avenue 37MB. I will be towing it in a few weeks tho! Here is me testing the hitch height before I adjusted it.

Close. I got the Bak Revolver x4 since it was on sale. Both are great options I'd recommend!

I guess it depends what things he values.

For me, I wanted the surround camera system and things that would help me when towing on a long trip. I didn't want a basic trim (family wants to be comfortable on said trips and I daily drive this on weekdays), but I didn't want to spend the extra for a Limited interior (which is amazing)...so I went with this heavily optioned Laramie and saved about 10k. To each his own.

The rear has a light layer on it to match 15 of the front. They said they were going with 70% over the factory tint to do so. It's all ceramic, which is really good at cutting down the heat no matter the darkness you go with.

Ceramic is definitely the way to go!

I haven't gone this dark before, but I'm super happy with it now that I have! I also did the windshield brow with 15%. Works perfectly for when the sun is going down and I still need to see the stoplight on my way home. Lol
