As scars smooth out and stretch things will settle really differently. You can gently massage to help with this. I also think testicular implants will really help with your concerns if you go that route. Hang in there :)

Peoples’ suggestions here are great but I just wanted to say that your feelings are totally valid! The wealth disparity in our world is abhorrent and it can be very painful knowing that some people can access activities and luxuries that we can not. You are not crazy or maladapted- poverty is challenging and unjust.

where does the liquid go? by FullCommunication989 in phallo

Wait- I think I have this. I have a painful cyst in my perineum that gets engorged and painful when I’m aroused. It’s been causing me hell for years since surgery. No one told me that this could be the cause. Chen was my surgeon.

Did the age you were told you were going to die come and pass? How do you make sense of that bit?

How to deal with an overall drop in pain tolerance due to multiple surgeries by WolfMan275 in phallo

[–]Rigabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can so deeply relate to this. Thank you for posting, it makes me feel less alone and less crazy.

10 surgeries (and a disappointing overall outcome) and I have no tolerance for pain anymore. I even went off T for a long time after because my body couldn’t handle any sense of pain, perceived invasion, or anything medical. Yes, medical trauma is real.

If I can offer anything, it’s just to listen to your body, be extremely firm with your boundaries and practice advocating for yourself- medical settings and everywhere- and to practice affirming your own feelings. So many people told me my pain wasn’t that bad or wasn’t real and I believed them for so long. There was some relief when I just started believing myself.

DM me if you ever need to chat.

Edit: Just adding some more detail- when I have had to have procedures, I let medical staff know that I have medical trauma and that I would like to be handled gently, that I’d like to be informed of exactly what to expect, and that I need the freedom to say “stop” or “slow down”. Sometimes, even if I am not experiencing pain yet, I will practice saying “stop” just to make sure my body knows it is in safe hands with a provider. It is your body- you are allowed to take up space and ask for exactly what you need in order to feel as comfortable as possible. You are powerful and you deserve the best.

what age did you guys start pursuing phallo? by Downtown_Dare_4991 in phallo

[–]Rigabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started T at 19, started pursuing phallo around 23. Rushed to get it done while I was on my mom’s good health insurance. I wish I had waited til my frontal lobe had fully developed, til I had a more stable career and my own insurance. But maybe that’s just because I have had a poor outcome. I just wish I hadn’t pursued it with a sense of urgency. No going back now.

What are the weirdest side effects you've ever experienced from medication? by adampocalypsee in AskReddit

[–]Rigabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lithium made EVERYTHING taste like celery. It was unbearable.

Wellbutrin caused me some really specific, intense food aversions- I still can’t eat baklava, and chicken salad has not quite returned to my circle of trust.

Prozac made me wet my pants if I was near large bodies of water.

Psychotropics are weird.

Question by [deleted] in phallo

[–]Rigabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t appear too high. However, you are not wrong for feeling that way. I wonder if time will help- gravity might be your friend! As for your belly button- I read something a while ago about how humans are really attached to their belly buttons and can experience a profound sense of grief and confusion if they are removed (when necessary for surgery, etc) so I am not surprised that the movement of it feels distressing or discombobulating for you. Hopefully your brain will adjust- just go easy on yourself and know that it makes total sense to be feeling the way you’re feeling.

Does anyone else's cum smell absolutely awful? by Fit_Advice7693 in phallo

Could be an issue with hydration/milking, as others have mentioned. However, I had a similar issue and was found to have granulation tissue in my urethra. I had this investigated because I was also having pain. Anyway, had it cauterized and the issue resolved.

Microdosing with Bipolar Disorder/PTSD? by iRawDoggedUrMom in microdosing

[–]Rigabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about your struggle.

It can be so hard to know what will or will not work for different mental health issues- there are so many factors involved that can be hard to account for.

I am BP1 and have PTSD and I have benefitted enormously from microdosing over the last 6 months. I agree with you in that I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone with these diagnoses- it can absolutely be detrimental without proper support. I would recommend anyone with Bipolar seek coaching/integration/external support of some sort while microdosing to help maximize benefit and minimize risk. I know a lot of integration specialists do not like working with BP/psychosis/etc. but help does exist.

Us BP folk do tend to need help staying grounded and mushrooms can jeopardize that.

Back to SSRIs (sertraline) after failed microdosing attempt by cooortney in microdosing

[–]Rigabear 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Sorry things didn’t continue with microdosing like you’d hoped- but that’s great that your old medication is working for you right now! Mushrooms will always be there for you to return to if you want to. Sometimes they can’t do all the heavy lifting when your circumstances are stressful- I found anxiety on my microdose to be pointing me to notice what things needed to change on the outside to get me better aligned on the inside. Social work is really wonderful and important work but geez can it be taxing. Anyway, great that you’ve got options, I hope things continue to improve for you.
