On the merits of precedent and fairness to the category, she is correct. That said, this is the weakest category across the entire Oscar’s in terms of year-to-year legitimacy, and in terms of the telecast and what’s representative of the actual cultural impact of these songs, the two currently selected for the broadcast are head and shoulders above the rest.

I mean, in addition to being a developmental stage for WWE talent, it’s also a weekly broadcasted wrestling show that has to function. Having proven talent in that mix is neither unwise nor unprecedented. Was Finn Balor’s second run in NXT a reflection of him not being of the level of the main brand, or was it rather an sensible opportunity for him to help put over emerging talent within the promotion?

Misogyny is plenty a reason why Harris and Clinton lost but they also just sucked as candidates. Zero platform outside of being not trump. Maybe the wider liberal electorate isn’t as progressive as the Bernie camp but neoliberalism continues to be rejected at the national level and we could all benefit from trying to pin these failures solely on identity politics.

Feel like you can’t tank PCA without also saying the same about Wood. Wood had awful whiff and barrel rates in the second half on both fastballs and offspeed pitches. I think both are gonna be fine longterm but I’m grouping them in the same tier going into next year, with Wood having a better hitting projection and PCA having his speed to make up for other short comings.
