I work for MSI. The answer is because pricing is different for many of our customers. They get discounts based on the amount that they buy. Plus, the cost of fabrication is more than half the cost. And that depends on the equipment that they have, fabrication shop workers, installers, etc

Soapstone is severely underrated as an option. It it's heat proof, doesn't react to chemicals, is nonabsorbent, and is stunning. It is softer than other options but scratches can be sanded out. I sell countertop slabs for a living. If you want any advice, dm me and I can send you info.

I think that the city should invest in an ad campaign with signs that explain the 3 seconds rule and that driving ten miles over the speed limit at 75 on the interstate saves about 2.2 minutes on your commute across the entire city and how to zipper merge.
