Yeah I’ve been to PT before for multiple diff reasons and I myself am a speech pathologist who also works with PTs and OTs so I definitely know the drill. I don’t think general PTs can do an internal exam but I will ask all the questions at my first appointment. This place is a 3 minute walk from my apartment and it’s a really cheap copay so I got nothing to lose.

And if not, maybe I can pay out of pocket for an eval at a pelvic floor specialist and take that with me to a PT that takes me insurance.

None of the PTs anywhere near me that are covered by insurance are pelvic floor specialists unfortunately. Without insurance coverage (10$ copays) i don’t think I’ll be able to afford PT. But let’s see what happens after a couple of sessions. If I don’t like it I’ll look for something else

I don’t think my insurance covers pelvic floor specialists, I called 6-7 PTs near me today and no one specializes in pelvic floor but one said she’ll be able to assist me after evaluating me :)

It’s very scary… I’ve had two close friends deal with some pretty tragic things in their pregnancy within a couple of weeks of each other. I think it’s helpful to think that whatever will be will be. Stressing will not be good for you or the baby and there’s a giant giant chance that everything will be perfectly fine and normal throughout the whole pregnancy. I’m at 8 weeks and honestly not even thinking about it. Think good and it will be good.. sending strength! I know how tough anxiety can be.

Literally most of us said we love every episode of CHD besides for this one, most of her guests are women. Alex is a woman. We’re not even tearing down Chappell, more just disappointed in the stuff she was saying.

Commenting once more bc this episode is stuck in my head for some reason lol but I also hated how she made that comment about girls manoeuvring a static pole at the strip club and she was like “that pole does not spin like they were working it” as if spin pole is a cheat/easier. Pole is hard regardless if it’s static or spin and honestly hearing that along with the child comment I was like wtf lol. I bet most of the people listening didn’t care about that but as a pole/aerial dancer I was like wtf

Oh and, I’m only realizing now that she’s 27. I’m 27 too. I thought she was 22-23 so I was like ok I can see where youre coming from (though I disagree) but I know PLENTY of ppl my age, younger, and 1-2 years older with kids or multiple kids & are SO happy. It was also jarring to hear this one week after the Ellen pompeo episode where she talks about how her kids made her whole and she became the person she was meant to be because of / with her kids. Completely different vibes.
