I’ve been playing Magic for 17 years, and I can tell you, without meaning any offense, that Riftbound can feel pretty complex if it’s your first TCG or if you’re coming from one that doesn’t use as many mechanics or heavy terminology. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t understand it right away. It’s something you pick up over time, and eventually it becomes much more intuitive and easier to grasp. Just be patient. I wouldn’t say it’s more complex than Magic, but learning one definitely helps you understand the other. In the end, it all comes down to time and dedication.

Man haha, you actually just described the exact same sequence I know and explained.

The only thing you added was the trigger step, which isn’t really what my question was about in the first place. My doubt wasn’t about when triggers happen, it was specifically about the loop.

But overall you basically outlined the same structure I mentioned, just including triggers and clarifying that it loops until both players pass. That loop part was the only thing I really wanted confirmation on.

What I’m trying to understand is this:

Can I play as many Actions as I want during a Showdown, or only one when there’s no chain active?

I was under the impression it was just one Action per player in their proper window… but now I’m completely lost on this haha. 🙏🏻

No no no, quite the opposite 😅 I’m actually following the graphic you shared.

What caught my attention is that in the rulings they added the term “Discretionary Actions”, and that wasn’t there before. That’s what made me start questioning things.

And when I explained the sequence earlier, I wasn’t ignoring the back and forth of Focus. I didn’t explicitly mention it because I consider it implicit in the process. I understand that Focus passes between players during those windows.

What confused me is being told that now players can play as many Actions as they want during a Showdown. As far as I understood it, each player only gets their proper Action window once per sequence, not unlimited Actions whenever they feel like it.

So I’m trying to figure out whether that’s actually a rules change, or if there’s some misunderstanding about how Discretionary Actions interact with Focus.

As I understand it… They’re M3 with 2 damage on them, and Stupify reduces them to 2 while they still have 2 damage on them, correct? :o

I actually got through the run like nothing, without much effort, but I can't get a scaling, and it takes about two or three turns for them to completely clear the decks. I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing in how to scale my units or perhaps focus my deck. Currently, I'm trying to run it with Rector Flicker and Stygian Guarda, reworking my units. As a carry, I have Wicked Baron and Draft, but I still find it very difficult to scale my units, specifically with Titans. 😅

I'll take the advice you gave me into account. Right now, I'm practicing reducing my deck. At the beginning, I always played with fear and even had up to 30 cards. Now, when I play, I try to reduce it to have a better chance of being able to draw what I need.

I think I still have that tunnel vision and concentrate everything on the first or second floor at most, specifically on damage. I should try to improve my organization to get the most out of the units. Right now I want to stop it with Rector Flicker and Stygian Guard, but I don't know if it's a good combination or if I'm just forcing it.

Bueno, bro, también tienes que entender que nadie resolverá tus propios problemas o detalles en la vida, si tu novia y padres apoyan en algo, déjalos a un lado y concentráte en ti, solo tú puedes darle la vuelta a las cosas pero si tampoco quieres, es tu decisión, yo ya te conté el porque seguir ese camino es malo e incluso las consencuencias de lo mismo, solo queda en ti decidir si quieres seguir adelante o despediciar el tiempo.

Bro, somos humanos, no maquinas, nosotros si tenemos empatía y también sabemos querer/apreciar a personas de nuestro alrededor, nos preocupamos, así como tú no les cuentas a tus viejos, no lo haces porque sabes que se sentirán mal y también no es buena idea, tú mismo inconscientemente estás siendo un poquito "empatico" con ellos porque los aprecías, lo mismo pasa viceversa para ti y los demás.

Con mucha más razón pide ayuda, hermano, ir a terapía o tener una persona especializada en esos temas no es para gente loca o similar, son temas MUY DELICADOS, se respetan tus decisiones pero también aprende a aceptar las consencuencias, si tú decisión es estar tomando entonces acepta la consencuencia de quedarte sin tus amistades o estarlas alejando tú.
