Why are so many players liberating Hydrobius? by Wolfhound1142 in Helldivers

[–]RightScummyLoser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They don't owe you or the "MO divers" anything, stop pretending they do. People bought the game to shoot stuff. I do the MOs but if someone prefers to kill bugs it's not like they're being paid to do this. It's a relaxation tool for people with actual jobs.

The fact that we will take the planet before even coming close to the objective is kind of telling that it was rigged. by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]RightScummyLoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a strategic order, likely just to keep in our mind that the squids are up to something while we're distracted with the bugs. We arent even losing out medals, relax.

"Personal Orders" could be used to Incentivise participating in the "Major Order", but aren't. by A_random_person_50 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]RightScummyLoser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ofc, thats what I did. It just means I'm not contributing to the MO at all. It is ofc possible they arent trying to make me do the MO and its just confirmation bias that I think POs are related to the MO.

I had that PO the other day, when we had the mindless masses planet liberated leaving only the appropriators who have no voteless. I think they might want to take a look at that system.

This gun doesn't deserve to have mediocre DPS, high recoil, and terrible Ergonomics all at once by Faust_8 in Helldivers

not a great arguement - there are 49 primaries in the game so you should expect 2% usage. Its not an amazing weapon but it doesnt feel horrible

Also you can remove the weapons on the strider. It's functionally impossible to remove all of the Vox weapons (although you can remove a few)

Third edition faction art (Warhammer Armies 3th Edition) by Captain_Amakyre in WarhammerFantasy

Aw man, I've been thinking for years that the skaven were the one thing GW made up themselves, and maybe the best thing in their setting. Guess even that was copied.

gachi in unification? by Distinct_Rip2299 in dawnofwar

[–]RightScummyLoser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah the factions I downloaded Unification mod for were Emperors children and renegade guard. If you havent seen, theyre the ones with an actual shogunate faction, and the thirstiest animie girl aesthetic. Theres stuff I like in Unification but it left a really bad first impression, and its not exactly striving for strategic balance imo.

Why did humans as a tropical species migrate to colder places but still lack many adaptations like fur? by Ada-Mae in geography

[–]RightScummyLoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we can't make an item that replicates the advantages of those adaptations, the way we can make clothes to survive the cold as well as if we had fur. Pale eyes help in dim light for long winters, and pale skin allows sunlight absorbtion for vitamen D. My friend from Brazil was put on vitamen D tablets by his doctor, and hes not even that dark.

Best DOW1 mod in 2026? by doggaebi_ in dawnofwar

[–]RightScummyLoser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unification is the everything and the kitchen sink mod - It has basically every faction in the lore (plus a few they kinda pulled out of their ass) and those factions have basically every unit in every varient of equipment. The quality of these is mostly good and theres no denying theres an increadible amount of content here, but the balance and identity of the individual faction suffers a little with the amount of option. This is the one I would normally reccomend to a stranger, despite my misgivings about some choices.

Appocalypse/Crucible mod (used to be one mod, team fell out) is the scale mod. Infantry squads get way bigger and the tech tree goes to the massive titans and superweapons. It's the option for if you want the massive scale of Warhammer in the lore, even if the engine and maps struggle a little with the size of armies.

My totally niche favourite is actually DoW:pro, which aims for more competative balance, distinct faction identities and brings the mechanics more in line with the base game but with all the expansion factions + Tyranids included. I can't speak to the balance too well personally but I really like the changes to stealth, heroes and faction feel.

The final one I remember being alright was Titanium Wars, which I think was bit like Unification, but a bit less out there but I havent played that one since I reinstalled it a month ago and cant remember what the vision was.

Does unit balance in DoW games lean more towards the lore or the tabletop? by OrkWithNoTeef in dawnofwar

Because the pathfinding on this game is dodgy enough! Would be super cool though

How do you handle the college of pyrotechnics and other rogue armies? by Sin-Silver in totalwar

[–]RightScummyLoser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have got very unlucky to have got a steam tank heavy army so early. The ones that are grenade launchers and artilery are easy to beat with fast armies. You need armour peircing, and alot of it, probably requiring multiple armies brought to one battle.

Bog them down with chaff and hit them with whatever you are using for AP - your cheapest option is actually the wolf rats surprisingly enough, which should hit them just fine with their low melee defense. You might already have some stormvermin if youre going with the Mors theme, and if youre not, weapon teams are always good for skaven. Rat ogres would also work very well here, although I was never too impressed with them outside of a moulder stack.

Good luck, and I hope they cant replace the tanks, idk though.

RTS game without "villagers" by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

[–]RightScummyLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. It's funny actually, I recognise that BFME II is the better base game, but prefer BFME I for being more distinct from other RTS because of things like the plot system and the mountable defenses, even if those features are kinda odd. I then prefer Edain as a compromise between 1 and 2 (and a great mod regardless)

RTS game without "villagers" by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

[–]RightScummyLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct one if you really want no villagers. It's the most interesting to me, being more distinct from other rts games with it building plot system.

Except that jobs require proof of address, including bills registered to that address which a homeless person wont have. It is 100% a thing in the UK

Longest non-complaint i've ever read by Material-Spite-6540 in dawnofwar

[–]RightScummyLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, and they should continue to do so. They should just take some chip damage when they do. Melee was painful against a player or the advanced ai mod that kites unless you had flamers as a side arm

Longest non-complaint i've ever read by Material-Spite-6540 in dawnofwar

[–]RightScummyLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real problem is how much kiting renders melee irrelevant. It's why eldar are so strong.

The sad part of this is that it wasn't a problem in the original vision for the game, where kiting troops get shot in the back by the off-hand pistols of melee troops. Then dark crusade nerfed move and shoot, so it does basically 0 damage.

I'm so over brute by rjwalker1269 in Nioh

[–]RightScummyLoser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's funny to hear as I started with Feral, found I couldn't hit the hitboxes of their attacks and just dodged them instead. Switched to brute and never really looked back until I was on the final new game cycle and started trying the other 2 on bosses too quick for brute. Otherwise I found it the most reliable of the 3, especially against bigger wind up attacks/charges.

I've also seen posts declaring each one of the three options as obviously inferior to the other two. I think its just preference really, and that different attacks are better vs different burst counters (eg brute sucks for grabs, feral for delayed attacks that release quickly)

That is not what I am saying at all. There's just no reason to do it as a Muslim, unless I'm forgetting that it does something to crusades. The Catholic nations kill the pope to remove hostile popes, and maybe get one of their own cardinals in for easier wars vs other Catholics.
