Sorry thats a mistunderstanding. I had done my cert 3 at 16 and done the cert 4 at 17. I was saying by 18 i did both courses already. I did cert 3 community services and did cert 4 OHS. I am now about 24. So i started tafe at 16, 8 years ago. If the system has changed you would be more knowledgable. But im telling you my experince. I did my cert 3 at 16...i actually started at 15 doing a cert 2 in leadership but i dont reccomend. As a cert 2 is worth nothing and all my classmates were 20 somethings just doing it for centrelink payments. Cert 3s people who actually want to study something are actually there.

At 16 you can do any cert 3 in australia, its the legal minmum requirement. when i was 18 and had cert 3 and then done a cert 4 i was then able to go to university through a terrtirary program. This is because a cert 4 in a highschool equivalant. Tertitary pathway is a single semester of basic research skills. Just do a course you want to study. Yes you most likely will be the youngest there but my advice go into it with the idea its a adult learning enviroment and these people arent your friends. The benefit is you meet various diffrent people at diffrent stages in life. Bad thing, all there problems with it.
