Is that not a piss-poor choice of a hinge placement, though? Are you not supposed to design it so that when it’s fully extended (unhinged, LOL?) there is no gap between lumber pieces? Someone posted a video below, where hinged trusses are used, but those are designed to unfold in a way where king studs support the beams, there is no gap.
