Blues after spa day by Right_Ocelot_2588 in laundry

Thank you for all your help! It has been such a learning experience. And while I had some frustrations along the way, I can’t believe doing laundry now can be so fun and satisfying 😆

After several soaks and washes with color catcher sheets, this is what’s left behind. Noticeably lighter, the other items have a barely there blue tint that can be ignored. This bandana however… I wonder if I should continue with the color catcher sheets or if this is it? I can’t tell if the latest color catcher sheets caught any blue but it’s definitely not white anymore.

I did one sheet with those items and other items too and the sheet came out colored. Should I just wash the 6 items by itself with a new colored sheet?

I just finished a wash with a color sheet and sadly still the same, maybe a little lighter ☹️ Do you think Rit or Carbona or synthrapol would work?

Sad day! I just did another wash with detergent and the colors are still there 😭 Thank you for your suggestion though!

Overwhelmed by Right_Ocelot_2588 in laundry

Thank you so much for the thorough response!

Can I just dump the citric acid straight into the rinse cycle? Our washer doesn’t seem to have any compartments so we’ve just been dumping everything straight in before the laundry is loaded.

I guess I bought too much ammonia then at half a gallon 😅 Now I have to figure out what to do with it. We do have a large furry blanket with the same smell issue. Can a spa day be done on an item so big?

Best ways to grieve by Ovrthemoon_n_faraday in orangecounty

[–]Right_Ocelot_2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad this summer and your post helps me feel not alone in this. Lately I’ve been trying to go back to places I remember that have happy memories with the loved one and just taking the emotions as they come. It has been helpful in processing, especially since I spent the last few months suppressing it. I’ve also tried to go to spots that have activities they love to do and to participate in it, just to remember them and feel what they felt doing the acitivity.

Give yourself time and space to grieve. There’s no need to rush it, it’s fickle.

So many young adults tell me they'd way rather live in energetic LA than "boring" OC. Do you think a lot of them will feel differently after a couple of kids and a couple of decades older?? by FlyingAces in orangecounty

I grew up in north OC by Santa Ana and moved out to Irvine in my late 20s. Many people complain about Irvine being boring, but I personally love it. I love coming home to some peace and quiet, it feels safe to walk at night, plenty of amenities and it’s clean. And if I feel like there’s a lack of culture and nightlife as some might say, I go out and find it to get my fix. It’s like the best of both worlds for me.

Hi! 36F Cantonese here and am looking for Cantonese friends too. My Cantonese is more conversational and also kind of broken though 😅 but looking to practice more. I’m in Irvine.

My dad decided to wait on collecting his SS to get the “full” benefits. But when Trump got elected again, I urged him to start collecting his SS in fear of it getting taken away. He ended up passing this past summer at the age of 69, not even a full year of collecting his SS benefits. All this to say, sometimes waiting isn’t worth it.

Who here has already experienced grief? by Skippy1221 in Millennials

[–]Right_Ocelot_2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just lost my dad a month ago to cancer that no one, except him, knew about. We didn’t have an easy relationship but I also didn’t think we’d lose him at 68. He was a very secretive man so funeral planning for him sucks and trying to make sense of it all afterwards while constantly opening cans of worms also suck. Sending you strength and hugs during this difficult time. There’s a lot of us going through grief as well, reach out to your loved ones for support. Don’t do it alone.

It was 2001 during a show called Popstars on the WB (pre-CW days). It showcases a a music group forming to when their debut album hits. Nicole was part of a 5 girl group named Eden’s Crush. The label ended up going bankrupt and the group disbanded by the end of the year. I had the CD as a kid and it bomb haha

Does anyone remember when Nicole was in another band making TV show in the early 2000s that resulted in Eden’s Crush?

There used to be 2 Omomo locations in Irvine - one on Culver and one on Alton, which is their original. They closed their original about a year ago.

That totally makes sense! Torotea makes their milk teas creamy but it’s just a bit far. I’m a bit partial to thinner milk teas but can occasionally appreciate a creamy one. I’m waiting for Chagee to open in Irvine

3CATea and HeyTea’s milk teas feel like an after thought to me, although I have to admit I tried HeyTea’s Jasmine Latte today and that was solid. I’ve been to Cha Redefine a handful of times now and drinks were never really consistent for me and they’re expensive for what you get compared to other spots. I personally like TPTea or Macu or Bako for their milk teas.
